Stunning Views, Peaceful Location, Large Pool & Minutes from Cruz Bay

A fantastic home for families or multiple couples to enjoy peace and tranquility, with stunning ocean views, a large pool, and the convenience of Cruz Bay only minutes away. Terrapin Station (formerly known as Stella Bella) underwent a major renovation in 2020 that included an all-new kitchen, master bath, guest suite, AC systems and furnishings. The property retains the charms of old St. John while providing the modern conveniences you expect in a vacation home.

The upstairs has an open floor plan with amazing views. The chef-worthy kitchen sits just above a sunken living and dining area, allowing everyone to gather during meal time and social hour - or to watch a game on the 60” screen. Outside the living room is an expansive deck that overlooks Chocolate Hole and Hart Bay, with St Thomas to the west and St Croix to the south.

Adjoining the living area are two equal-sized primary suites. Each suite has its own private bath and large covered screened-n porch. Both bedrooms are over 350 sf and feature new king-size beds plus a separate day bed for napping…or keeping little ones close by.

The other two bedrooms are downstairs. Both are mini-apartments with private baths, kitchenettes and separate entrances – perfect for in-laws or outlaws who need privacy. Bedroom #3 is set up like a two-room hotel suite, with a king-size bed in one room and space for a full size air mattress in the separate living area. Bedroom #4 is an efficiency configuration, with a queen-size bed and a full kitchen. The views are essentially identical from all four of the villa’s bedrooms.

There are other great features throughout the house. For starters, 100% of the living area is air conditioned, which isn’t typical on St John. Terrapin Station has one of the island’s larger pools – and it’s private enough for skinny-dipping! If cooking is your thing, the well-appointed kitchen, two refrigerators and an outdoor grill will make your week. Fast internet service, a brand new laundry room, Tesla Power Walls to keep the lights on during a power outage, and parking for 3+ vehicles makes this a great place to call your island home.

4 Master Bedroom Home in Lovely St.John
Overall, this property is nice. Some pros and cons: Pros: Its a nice space with 4 master bedrooms, great for 4 couples or a mix of small families. 2 rooms on the top floor are connected in the middle with the living/dining/kitchen, which is well suited. Kitchen had mostly everything we needed. Good location, for sure. Cons: The way the 4 master bedrooms are set up, the two suites on the lower level are only accessible by going up the deck steps. So the 2 bedrooms downstairs are not a good setup for kids, grandparents, etc. The two bottom level bedrooms also didnt seem to be completely sealed from the outside- our 3 teens slept in those rooms and got many misquito bites as they slept. The driveway is VERY steep- fun for our crew, but I could see it being a negative for some. In general, St.Johns roads are akin to a jungle scene up a mountain in the movie Jumangi. There is no public trash service on the island, so be aware that you'll need to drive your trash to a dumpster about 5-10 minutes away.

House: amazing view, House very comfortable, TV in almost each room, Pool very nice, Property Manger: We had a little issue at the beginning as the house was not ready neither cleaned. But the property manager was nice to offer us one more night as apology. I would go back to this house again.

The home and property are absolutely gorgeous. We loved this house the most out of everywhere we have stayed. The layout worked really well for us with two masters off the main living area and an additional two apartment style rooms on the lower level. The home is very welcoming and cozy. The living room furniture was amazing! I want to buy it for my own house. The kitchen was fully stocked and even had extras like spices which we very much appreciated. I love how the property manager waited for us at the dock and lead us to the property. It’s in a fabuabout minutes

Overall nice
Location is great! This is the 3rd property we’ve stayed in on STJ, and while it was definitely adequate for our getaway purposes in every way, it’s been our least favorite due to layout mostly. Wouldn’t recommend for family with young children; there are many stairs on this property and access to the pool is not easy.

Our group of 8 had the most amazing stay!! All of us parents enjoyed a vacation without kids. The house made our trip so easy having everything we needed and more. The location was perfect too being so close to Cruz Bay and so secluded. And the pool!!! It was so fun to enjoy day and night!! We highly recommend this house!

Great House on St. John
We were a group of 2 families. The 4 bedrooms allowed us to spread out. Communication with property manager was A+. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen excellent. Driveway challenging but we got better with each day we spent there. Pool great. Outdoor deck with raised bar table and shade screen wonderful. Great views in AM and PM. Beach towels provided were good. Beach chairs and coolers provided were fine. Overall a great place to stay! Thanks Katja.

Really enjoyed staying at this house. Great location and views. One thing to consider is the downstairs rooms are like apartments. Our kids did not want to stay there so it was great that each upstairs rooms had day beds and the couch was extremely comfortable.

Great house - crazy driveway!
It was a wonderful house and suited the needs of our group beautifully! Only thing I would recommend be noted on the listing is the steep driveway. Our taxi driver was willing to go up each time but if we were traveling with older folks it would be really dangerous. Otherwise, amazing house!!

Excellent Stay!
We just had this most wonderful week at the villa! Views were amazing and the location was convenient! It was the perfect layout for our two families of four. We have four teenagers between the two families and there was great room for everyone to spread out. The property managers were very helpful and answered any questions we had immediately. I can’t say enough about how wonderful our week was! Waking up this morning wishing we were still there!

Comfortable, spacious villa with beautiful views
Great place to stay for larger family or groups. Beautiful views, awesome pool. Very helpful hosts/managers who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We had kids ages 8 and 10 and their grandparents in their 80s with us. Those in their 80s would’ve struggled on their own here as the very steep driveway and many stairs are tough to navigate. And I would’ve been nervous with really small kids given all the decks and stairs. But we loved it.

great home over all.
We loved our stay here. The main level has deck with beautiful view of Chocolate Hole and other bays. Nice pool, it is two levels below main level cascading down the hill. Two apt type rooms are one level below main level, each with their own bathroom. Driveway is very steep, need 4-wheel vehicle to drive up it safely, but there are many mountains on this island, so not surprising.. Property management was very responsive. Master bedroom mattress was comfortable, but other three couples said the mattresses definitely needed to be replaced. Deck is a bit worn with many nail heads sticking up slightly, so wear shoes. Overall, great place to stay and will be even better after some maintenance.

Beyond Expectations
This house was even better than advertised. We loved the location- high enough to overlook the ocean and also close enough to drive into town each night for dinner. The kitchen was one of the best stocked VRBO's we have ever stayed. They had plenty of spices, pans, and dishes to cook each day. Every room had an air-conditioner which helped when we wanted to cool down at night after being at the beach all day. The property managers went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed with groceries (I highly recommend taking advantage of the grocery provisions. We were able to enjoy a glass of chilled wine of the deck when we first arrived!) to booking boat and restaurants. They also took care of incidentals that we had during our stay. I can't recommend this property enough!

Enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. Location was convenient to Cruz Bay. Only real downside is driveway which is perhaps typical in a villa nestled in the hills. The taxis won’t drive up the driveway so if taking cabs you must walk down and back up a very steep long driveway if venturing out. Views were beautiful and accommodations comfortable for a group of 8.

Brief: Beautiful house, great location, good layout for multiple groups. Detailed: Location is great, with a fantastic view and beautifully landscaped property. House is clean, well maintained, and well appointed with cooking equipment, grill, and left-over spices. The view while cooking or dining on the deck is amazing. Laundry facilities worked well and had detergent, dishwasher had soap, bathrooms all with soap / shampoo. Each room has a/c, Wi-Fi works well. The pool is clean, with plenty of children’s pool toys and rafts, along with snorkeling gear and coolers for the beach days. For those unclear from the picture, the main house has 2 large bedrooms joined by a common space, kitchen, and deck. One floor below, accessible only by outdoor staircase are 2 independent efficiency studios separated by a long walk-way, which makes it great for several different families or groups, although was a bit awkward for our 2-family party with 4 smaller children since one group of children would be in their own separate apartment or one family would watching all 4 kids sleeping in one of the bedrooms. The rental company was easy to communicate with. The only small problem was the lighting on the stairs (only switch is at the bottom) and the uneven and unsecured decking boards, several of which need to be repaired and or replaced. Not a problem with adults, but takes a bit more planning and care with smaller children. I would absolutely book this place again without hesitation when we come back to St. John.

The Perfect family vacation
My husband and I took our three tween and teen kids, as well as both our mothers, to stay at this amazing home. The view was amazing to wake up to and end the day with. The pool was a good size and very clean. The kids got great use of this! The house had absolutely everything we needed and lots of space and privacy. I think what stood out the most, however, was Tori and how helpful she was throughout the entire process. I would 1,000% recommend this property to anyone!

The property is in a great location and very close to groceries and downtown. There where eight in our group and we had plenty of room. The views are spectacular! The only drawback was there wasn't a t.v. in every bedroom but hey, you're in the islands.

Amazing stay at Terrapin Station in St. John!
Terrapin Station is a great house in the Chocolate Hole area of St. John. We had two families with 4 kids ranging in age from 11-15. Everyone had their own space and the kids loved having their separate living area where they could hang out. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked several full meals there. The pool was large and the kids loved swimming in it after we got back from the beach every day. We would highly recommend Terrapin Station and would definitely rent it again for a future stay.

Christmas vacation with family
Spent 11 days over Christmas holiday with family of 8 adults. The home was in a wonderful location. It was close to Cruz bay and grocery store. The view was wonderful overlooking Chocolate hole. There was plenty of space to accommodate all 8 adults. The kitchen is well stocked and for cooking or to have a private chef come in a cook for you. I would take advantage of this service. Driftwood property management was very accommodating and easy to work with. Tori was always readily available and answered all needs. The home could use some organizing and some updating but overall would certainly recommend a stay here.
