We were looking for a place to stay that was conveniently located to beaches and restaurants and it was perfect! The views were amazing. The driveway is quite steep but we mastered it quickly enough. They had every amenity we needed and surprised us with a basket of goodies waiting on the counter. Very friendly and easy to work with.

As described with a beautiful view

This is a spotless and well-appointed property with great views. Curtis was very attentive to our needs and is a great host. Everybody on the island knows him and likes him. We used taxis for our trips to town, and the drivers could be hit or miss a bit. Next time, we will rent a Jeep and save the cabs for when we want to drink on our adventures.

Great house, view and location

House was clean and well supplied. Beautiful view overlooking Great Cruz Bay. The drive into Cruz Bay was less than 5 minutes. Coolers, chairs, towels and floats were provided which made our beach trips more enjoyable. Curtis was great. Very polite and professional and went above and beyond when we had a Jeep return issue. I would highly recommend this house. Thanks Curtis!

Beautiful Views

Villa Bombalassy was a great place to stay for our party of 4. It overlooks Great Cruz Bay and is very quiet. The villa was exactly as described. One thing that is in the description but we overlooked is the fact that the first floor does not have A/C. We were just fine and the breeze was nice. Also, someone else mentioned it but it bears repeating: the driveway is super steep. We were fine and didn't walk up in heels to meet our jitneys (haha). Just know that if steep inclines freak you out, you'll want to close your eyes. Still, it led to a beautiful and nicely appointed villa near town. And, Curtis was patient and very responsive with great recommendations!

Awesome villa

We had never been to St. John and frankly my 16 year old daughter picked this one. Well, it is great primarily because of the owner. He treats you like family and has real pride in his villa. You can text him with any question and he answers right away. Also, everyone knows him. Everyone. We drove everywhere on the island and after being everywhere I can tell you that this location can’t be beat. 10 minutes to all of the shopping and restaurants at Cruz Bay and 25 minutes to Hawksnest Beach. And yet the villa is very private. The villa was wonderful with large windows and sliding glass doors so you have a nice breeze at all times and a great pool! Highly recommend this villa!

Wonderful Villa

My wife and I loved our 14 day stay at the Villa Bombalassy. Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The view is amazing. Quiet and no obstructed view. We also rented a SUV from Curtis, which made pick up and drop off at the ferry dock covenient. We did have a problem with the in room safe, but Curtis was very quick to respond, get a new safe and replace it within 24 hours! You must have a rental vehcile as the posting states. The Villa is cliff side with a very steep gated driveway. It is only five minutes from Cruz Bay and even closer to both the Dolpin and Starfish markets. The Villa Bombalassy and Pink Conch, both owned by Curtis, are side by side with parking. Be aware that the Bombalassy sits below the parking and has a long brick stairway to access the Villa. It was no problem for us, but it is not handicap accessible. If the stairs are a problem choose the pink Conch. Both were available for us and we chose Bombalassy because it does sit lower and forward of the Pink Conch giving it a totally unobstructed view of the bay, although I wouldn't hesitate to reserve the Pink Conch. Our daughter and her partner have already said that they plan to rent one these Villas based on our experience. Very pleased!

Lime Out VI 2023

The Views from Bombalassy Villa was incredible. When we first arrived unfortunately it rained for 3 days (the tail end of the hurricane). It did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. Plenty of game choices to chose to entertain us & cable tv to choose movies as well. We also went into town during the rain & enjoyed lunch at Mongoose Junction. Curtis Penn has a big family that also works on the island, so we hired them to make our trip to St. John memorable. We were hesitant to drive the winding roads so we hired Richie as our taxi, Ronnie (Starfish Tours) gave us a private tour of the island filling us in on the people/history of St John & Curtis (owner of Bombalassy Villa) is an amazing captain of his beautiful 36ft boat to take us on a private tour of the island…the best time ever! Yes, we circled the entire island while he narrated the history of the islands National Park which is most of the island, stopped at all the bays to snorkeled (incredible) but the best cove we loved was the one we stopped for lunch, Coral Bay…a floating eatery named “Lime Out” Taco Bar. You swim up to these floating tables enjoying Drinks & fresh homemade spectacular Tacos. The Penn Family gave us the Best Vacation Ever! Thank You Curtis! The Buck’s & Danback’s 10/2023

Fantastic Way to see St. John’s

Bomballasy Villa is gorgeous. Myrtle and Curtis have done a fantastic job with the house. The rooms are thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. For just the two of us, it was more than enough. The view of Cruz Bay is beautiful. Take it in from either the comfortable soaking pool or the 4 comfortable chaise lounges. A few steps around the side of the Villa, there’s a big hammock for chilling. Adjacent to that, a table/chairs for 4. Lots of ways to be comfortable outside and that’s where you’ll want to be, of course. The location is right outside the big heart of the small town/city that is Cruz Bay. A 5 minute drive to the grocery store and, more or less, most of the restaurants and shopping. In terms of the major Cruz Bay beaches, you’re about 15 minutes from Trunk Bay. (Leave the house at 9:30, if you hope to get parking.) Another 10 minutes and you’ll reach Cinnamon Bay. Yes, the driveway is very steep. And you’ll drive a couple of equally steep hills getting to the home. But that’s where the views are. Do not be discouraged by it. (And frankly, if driving hills isn’t for you, then St. John probably isn’t for you.) A rental Jeep with good brakes and you’re golden. You may even get the opportunity to stop for a herd of goats who have decided to have a meal there. (Goats know a good climb.) but Myrtle and Curtis are ideal hosts. Available right when you need them. Otherwise, you are completely left to your own devices. Sound like you might love it? You will.
