The only problem was some mold on the tile grout lines in the ceiling of the shower, which we cleaned the next day. Sometimes the housekeeper misses something this small.

This historic home dates back over 100 years to 1908 when George Brooks hurriedly built the section that provides 4 guest bedrooms. The stairs George built are somewhat steep and narrow - but the guest has modern stairs outside facing the pool the can use in lieu of using the inside stairs. The floors have been refinished with new carpets in the last two years, but the house reflects the historic period it was built in. Apparently this guest does not like old houses.

When the landscaper is trying to work around weather issues, he sometimes shows up before 8am. I will talk to him again about not starting until after 8am, preferably after 10am. The instructions in the rooms advises guests to call the innkeeper is there is something is amiss or if the room is too cold or hot. Don't wait to complain in the online reviews - do it when you are at the inn! As the innkeeper, I can't fix the "issue" unless you call me while I can fix the problem.

It looks like our effort "to exceed expectations" works. We would like to get a 5 out of 5 from every guest, but there are often minor issues that prevent getting a perfect score. thank you Anonymous!

Our breakfast is designed for the average eater - most guests will not eat an entire round Belgium waffle - but you only need to ask for more. We have muffins out before breakfast is served, juice on the table, and then a fruit course before the main entre. The showers are stocked with shampoo and body wash - maybe this guest look inside to the small shelf. This is an example of the guest not asking the innkeeper - a small inn like ours provides much higher service levels than your typical hotel. Just need to ASK the innkeeper!
