Als besonders gut habe ich den Spa Bereich empfunden. Das Essen war nicht so toll und gerade der Kaffee beim Frühstück war ekelhaft. Das Abendessen ist bis 21.00 Uhr möglich. 19.30 Uhr gab es bereits die ersten Speisen nicht mehr und die Kellner haben laut für das Frühstück umgeräumt. Nicht sehr gastfreundlich. Das Zimmer hat komisch gerochen.

Nice hotel with great wellness area, exclusive suite was spacious room. Unfortunatelly the meals provided are below average and its taste varies hugely from day to day. In our case 2 out of 5 days the food was good, the other 3 days was merely edible. Also, the service in the restaurant is nothing but chaos, where everyone is doing everything. There is total lack of experience (e.g. Question: What white wine you have? Answer: Dry.) Drinks have to be ordered separatelly, not even water is provided. Absolut killer for me, there is no coffee machine in the room, you can get coffee at 7am at the earliest, when the breakfast starts. Lobby bar is closed until 9am. Overall good stay, I would come back, but no wow effect and no sentiment. The girls and ladies at the reception desk (lobby, not wellness) are great and very helpfull.

Ein Wellness Hotel? Um 14 Uhr öffnet das Wellness Center. Habe ich noch nirgendwo erlebt. Viele Leute wollen noch vor dem Frühstücken eine Runde Schwimmen gehen. So kenne ich das bisher überall, wo ich gewesen bin. Und das waren nicht wenige Hotels. Essen ist mittelmäßig, Sonderwünsche darf man nicht haben. Z.B. paar Spiegel Eier, gibt’s heute nicht war die Antwort. Also ich würde sagen, maximal 3 Sterne. Und dafür sind Sie wieder zu teuer. Der Ungarische Gulasch war nicht schlecht. Aber der Stuhlgang hinterher war auch nicht schlecht. Zu empfehlen bei Verstopfung.

The food is very good. We liked the saunas, spas, and resting rooms around the spa/pool complex. The location near a forest with walking trails and the mountain view is spectacular.

Nice stay

This hotel has a great view of Tatry. Check-out time is a little bit early I guess. The swimming pool opens at 10:00. Therefore, you cannot use the pool in the morning of the check-out day. Breakfast is relatively good. But the dinner is so-so. There are not many selections. Staffs are so nice and helpful.

Good base in the Tatra

Overall good hotel, however small details that make it not great, considering the price; such as internet availability, which kept disconnecting in the middle of the room, I had to sit next to the door for a stable connection; breakfast is resonable ok as per Slovakian standard, but could be better, specially the coffee.

Behind expectations and photos

Big disappointment as the previous reviews were great. We came to check in after the hike around 7pm, looking forward to enjoy the spa and the dinner. The reception was slow and explained us both the spa and the dinner is until 9pm. We rushed in the spa that is very basic (nothing like the photos) and even lacks Finnish sauna. We left and went for the dinner after 8pm to find out almost nothing is left. In full fairness, what was left was nice. The breakfast selection is very limited, the quality very average (plus points for the fish salads) and they charged €2.60 extra for a cappucino. The rooms are small, we got a double bed even if we called asking for twin bed. The wifi always disconnects and one needs to open a browser and log in again and again. The most positive thing was the super nice bar tender, as if he was from another world. Overall this hotel is worth €50 per night and not €180 as we paid.

Pleasant Stay in High Tatras

Stayed at Horizont Resort over a long weekend as an escape to the High Tartras and wellness relaxation. The hotel was nice enough, good standard for Slovakia with very nice staff and courteous service. Stayed on the 4th floor in a Suite which was fine. Living room area was bigger than the bedroom and bathroom areas combined, so not that great for a couple. Had a bath, which was good size, but the shower was weak. Also the door alignment for the bedroom and bathroom were difficult to manage as they are bother very large and the hallway they open into was narrow. Onto a very big positive.....enjoyed the buffet-style breakfast and dinners and the quality of the food was excellent. Some choices were better than others, but all-in-all the tastes were impressive. Location was also very nice, with views (from the grounds, not our room) to the High Tartras, including Start and Skalnate Pleso lift stations. One negative was the lack of control of children in the wellness (Sauna) areas.
