The apt. was exceptionally located on the edge of the main square where the cathedral, museums, canals and main shopping area is location. The view of the side of the cathedral from our apartment was awe inspiring. The tourist and canal tour offices are at street level in our apt. building. To access the apt. from the train station is an easy 8-10 minute walk or a short tram ride which drops you off about a two minute walk from the apt. You catch the tram on the lower level of the train station. The apartment was very bright, spacious & clean; the kitchen and bathroom were modern & well appointed and the WI-FI worked beautifully. The apt. is on the 3rd floor & does have an elevator (lift). We also had washing machine which came in handy as we were traveling for a month. The apartment was surprisingly quiet for its' location.
The dining choices are varied; restaurants and cafes are everywhere. There are specialty shops for breads, meats, chocolates, pastries, wines and beers; the choices are plentiful. There are grocery stores in walking distance to stock the apt. fridge, if you choose to cook any meals. There are lots of places to shop for Strasbourg gift items as well as clothing, purses, jewelry & shoe stores.
Our host, Amandine had compiled a book on all aspects of the apartment: heating, appliances, etc. so we could easily use them. The book also had sections on attractions in Starsbourg , history and dining recommendations. He gave us his phone # in case we had any questions, challenges or emergencies during our stay. Amandine also was very kind in make dinner reservations for us at our behest, as it was the weekend of Easter and we were unsure what restaurants would be open. His two choices were unbelievably good. The food was outstanding, the restaurants were close to our apartments and frequented by locals.
We give it five stars and would definitely stay there again!
