This is a remote location close to hiking trails and waterfalls. It is very important to have a car, as it is not close to the cities. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is good, and the rooms comfortable. There are books to read and games to play.

This is a very special hotel up in the mountains. They view is spectacular, the place is spotless, the beds are very comfortable, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. We loved staring out at the mountains while enjoying the breakfast buffet and then ending the day with a game in the lounge over dessert. It’s a great midway point between places to go in western Norway, like Briksdalbreen and Geiranger. There are also a number of small towns along the way if you drive in from Ålesund airport, where it was fun to walk around and stop for a pastry. We loved the Videseter and would definitely stay here again.

This has to be one of the best hidden gems in Norway. The views are absolutely stunning, with a beautiful waterfall lookout and rooftop terrace. The hotel itself has a wonderful “old feel”. It is dated, but oozing history and well maintained. The rooms were very comfortable and very large, we easily fit our family of 4 in one of the family rooms. The breakfast was excellent and you could enjoy your coffee with magnificent views. Would highly recommend this place, especially for the views and wonderful old charm feel.

Wir kamen von einer Radtour im Regen sehr nass zurück. Uns wurde sofort ein sehr warmer Trockenraum für all unsere Sachen angeboten, die am nächsten Tag komplett trocken waren. Das Diner- und Frühstücksbuffet hatten eine große Auswahl und es war sehr lecker. Einzig das Bad war renovierungsbedürftig.

A estação de recarga de veículos não estava funcionando, é sabido que na região existe uma única a 12km de distância e não houve qualquer empenho dos funcionários em resolver o problema ou, sequer, dar uma previsão. Café da manhã razoável, mas o café em si era de má qualidade.

The view of the valley is stunning. The rooms are utilitarian and very clean. The breakfast is truly excellent and by comparison, the dinner was terrible and expensive. We rented the sauna and it was wonderful! There are 2 roads that lead to the Videseter and on arrival, Google Maps took us through a one lane, mountain road that was closed at the top! Would have been nice if the hotel had mentioned not to take the closed road. A quick message after we booked would have prevented a lot of stress. No EV chargers on site, but they plan to fix that soon.

Amazing

I booked 2 extra nights because I liked the place so much, and if I could I would have stayed even longer. It is pretty close to some amazing places like: Geiranger, Jostedals Glacier, Reinheimer National park, scenic route 258, scenic route 55, and so much more. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was really good. The owners are super nice.
