Sherwood Lighthouse Cabin - Near Boat Launch & State Park

Relax to the beauty of nature in this charming 2-bed cabin tucked away in the woods! View historic landscapes of the Sherwood Point Lighthouse, a working lighthouse right across the front yard! Located just off of Green Bay and equipped with the necessary amenities. Close to all Door County activities & some of the best year-round fishing in the state – this home is perfect to unwind and getaway!

The Space:
Relax outdoors with views of nature and the lighthouse from the patio and backyard. Outdoor shed has all things needed to have a fun time of outdoor activities including bags (cornhole), ladder ball, fire pit, BBQ grill & more. (BYO firewood and charcoal but may be leftovers there).

- Closets for storage and small dresser
- Queen pull out sofa sleeper in living room

Guest Access
Guests will have full access to the entire cabin, yard and all amenities provided. My topmost priority is to make your as pleasant and comfortable possible.

Please make sure you follow all the house rules during your stay.

The lighthouse across is private property and occasionally rented out by US Coast Guards, please respect their privacy.

No direct water access from property.

There is a strict rule regarding the number of guests allowed - 6 guests

Mom & I had a lovely stay. This was our first trip since my Dad passed in January of this year, so I wanted to make sure she got to see lighthouses again and this was perfect! We got a beautiful shot of the lighthouse in the evening and we got lucky there was an open event this weekend so Mom got to tour it. Our host, Andy, was wonderful and accommodating to adding on an extra day and my Mom’s small diabetic dog (Dad’s best friend). I would give this place and our overall experience a solid rating. It’s quiet, cozy and oh my gosh that bed is so comfortable. I haven’t slept so good in years. Given the opportunity I will be back again, hopefully next June!

Peaceful Retreat

This house was exactly what we were looking for for a short getaway before baby 2 arrives. Our 2 year old slept better here than she has in weeks! Setting was remote yet close enough to town. Loved the view of the water and Lighthouse. Thank you!

Quiet Getaway

The cottage is in a rural setting but close to many attractions. Enjoy long walks with a canopy of trees and wildlife. Beautiful sunsets available with water views. A lighthouse is just across the road. Sturgeon Bay has many unique shops and restaurants to enjoy. Day trips to Door County are doable.

Had a great stay at this little cabin in the woods. The property was clean and quiet with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. It had a nice outdoor space where we could have a campfire under the stars and the host was extremely helpful and easy to reach.

Feel like a Local

Nice property in a unique location, walking distance to a local watering hole, close to the Idlewild golf course and the state park/boat ramps. Location is tough to beat, house is cute and has all the necessary amenities. Saw a fox and deer in the yard.

Property was clean and neat. Fire pit was great and we enjoyed using it while roasting marshmallows on the cold evenings in early June. BBQ is charcoal not gas, so we did not use it. Kitchen is missing stove so we managed with the toaster oven and hot plate provided. Dining room lighting could be better. Living room was good size with a big tv and lots of viewing options. Bedrooms were good size, clean and comfortable. Andy (host) was very quick to respond to all our questions.

Fun time at the cabin

This is a cute, cozy cabin nuzzled into the forest on the end of a quite road. Andy was so responsive and helpful during our stay. We had a great time in the big woods.

One of the Best trips!

This was exactly what we were looking for, such an amazing spot! The house was clean and had all the necessary amenities. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in. We made breakfast every morning with the griddle, didn't even miss an actual stove. We played bean bags, had fires and cooked on the grill. The lighthouse across the street is the coolest thing ever. There is so much to see, do and eat in Sturgeon Bay, would definitely recommend Andy's place. Best mini vacation we've been on in a long time.

Gorgeous Property!

The check in process was flawless, the location was gorgeous, and it was so quiet. A perfect weekend getaway right next to the lake, and the lighthouse is gorgeous. Everything inside was clean and cozy. 10/10 recommend.

Early April at the Cabin by the Bay

It was the perfect place for us. Quiet, relaxing, the perfect size for my husband my self and our doggie. It had everything we needed. And the location was superb. Andy was a fabulous host. Great communication and the cabin was clean and very comfortable. I definitely recommend Andy's cabin by the Bay.

Cute place in a great spot

Extremely nice manager, kept in immediate contact whenever I had a question. A lot of places that say “pet friendly” really only mean dog friendly, but when asked, the manager allowed me to bring my cat. I took Felony and she loved it as much as I did. Definitely recommend for how nice it is and how great the manager is.

Beautiful cabin

The stay was very pleasant, Andy did a great job communicating clearly. The only reason why this review isn’t a complete five star is because one of the handles in the shower did not work correctly. Other than that everything was fantastic.

Great getaway

We stayed for a long weekend in September. The cabin was clean, well-appointed, and a great location for activities. The beds were comfortable and most of the furnishings and decor were new. Tip: make sure you put the location in your GPS before heading up the peninsula, as the mobile reception in the area is 1 bar or less. 🤓

Traditional Charming Door County Cottage

Charming, clean, comfortable cottage right across from Sherwood Point Lighthouse was just as advertised. We’ve stayed in several VRBO properties and this was the first that I did not have to do any cleaning when we arrived- what a treat! Our little Spaniel was very comfortable as well in her crate. The furniture is comfortable and not old and saggy like a lot of rental properties. The kitchen is just enough to heat up some leftovers from the fabulous nearby restaurants or make a cup of coffee and eggs to enjoy the sunrise. There are a lot of tourists that come to look at the lighthouse and turn around prepared Before I say that the bathroom was a little rugged for me, I should say that I have never been camping and that I think “high maintenance” is a compliment! My Eagle Scout husband found it adequate. 😀

Nice Door County Weekend

Property was as described and the property manager communicated well throughout. The location next to the lighthouse is unique, and this was a good jumping off point for exploring door county throughout the weekend. We enjoyed using the fire pit each night.
