Nice quiet location

Loved the rental! It is in excellent condition and the location is centrally located making it a convenient drive to Mattoon or Decatur. Sunsets were beautiful across the open fields. Will definitely be looking at using this location for family visits in the future. Thank you so much!

The best VRBO house we have ever booked

Perfect quiet getaway !

This location was absolutely perfect for a peaceful and relaxing weekend! The sunsets were beautiful! The cabin was exactly as described and I instantly felt at home. The owners live nearby and were available if needed. The kitchen and bathroom is well stocked. On our drive home we talked about hopefully being able to rent the cabin again in the future.

Peaceful Getaway

A little peace of heaven close to amenities. We had a great stay and the host is very helpful with recommendations for local eateries and when needed. The setting is very peaceful and the patio sunsets breathtaking. The home is well thought through with all you need! Looking forward to staying again sometime soon!

Quiet getaway

We wanted a nice quiet spot away from 4th of July fireworks. It was a cute little place. Very dog friendly. Very relaxing. Sullivan Bakery had really good doughnuts. One thought - there were no covered or locking garbage cans inside at all. A dog-friendly property should have those to keep dogs from potentially getting into something they shouldn't.

Hidden gem

This is a beautiful new home complete with all the amenities. Everything was remembered when setting up this home. The hot tub on a starry night is incredible. Plenty of towels are provided too. You won’t find such a great home anywhere near this area. Visit Aikmans Wildlife Adventure and the nearby parks for hiking. Fireworks in Arcola are a huge deal and shouldn’t be missed if you’re here around the 4 th of July. Watch from the hot tub!

Amazing sky views

This property was absolutely great all around! The open space, clear sky with the sunset and stars, as well as the silence and privacy was perfect coming from the city. Check in was very easy and communication from the owner was super quick and responsive before and during the trip as well. The fire pit and hot tub did now disappoint! Many house items were also provided. Heads up for any dog owners with reactive dogs, there is a very sweet and friendly outside dog that roams the property. He was not a bother at all, but make sure to communicate with the owner in case your dog is planning to spend time outside. Would very much recommend overall!

Lake Shelbyville weekend

We needed a place to stay so we could spend the weekend on Lake Shelbyville. We thought we would try a house since it is so hard to find a place on the lake. It is exactly 15 minutes from Bo Woods launch and takes you straight through Sullivan. The place is very clean and great for a family of 4 people. It is very quiet and was nice to have coffee on the porch. It got 4 stars because when we got there, the owner said they were having issues with a smell especially when they ran the washing machine. The smell was faint when we got there and it went from very strong to somewhat faint throughout different times that weekend. It smelled possibly like egg water, but the water out of the faucet did not smell. We really liked the place otherwise, but the smell was very strong at times. This will deter us from coming back.
