Just shy of perfect
The Lighthearted Lodge was in a nice location and was decorated cute. The hot tub was a major bonus! However, I have two minor complaints: finding where to leave the trash was a treasure hunt all its own, and the cobwebs and dust (especially in the shower and the kitchen window) were a little off-putting. I am obsessively clean, so this may not be something that bothers everyone. As far as the trash, where to dispose of it was buried in the rental agreement and was time consuming to figure out. Maybe leaving a note by the door for trash disposal instructions or something would be more effective.

Perfect cabin for a family getaway!
This new cabin was perfect for our weekend family getaway! It was extremely clean and had everything we needed. This was our first time to Deep Creek and while this cabin is a little further from the water, it was only a few minutes drive away. The door code check-in was simple and easy to use. The hot tub was extremely enjoyable each night. We would have liked to have a TV in the main living area, but it was also nice to get away from it for awhile. There is a TV in the downstairs family room area and 2 of the bedrooms. It was a quiet neighborhood area during our stay. You do see other cabins around but the deck area sits up high and gives you nice privacy from the other homes. There are no curtains or shades on the windows in the main living area. We did not mind this, but may be something you should be aware of when staying here. The master bedroom has sheer curtains for privacy but it still gets very bright in the room each morning. Overall, we had a wonderful time and thought this cabin had a great layout, was modern, clean and quiet. Which was exactly what we were looking for. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area!
Tip for future guests: You must empty the trash at check-out. The trash compactor is located further down the main entrance road and not at the entrance as stated in the directions. Just keep driving on the main road a bit and you will see a GREEN building/shed with a white garage door on the left side of the road. Our entire stay we did not see it since we did not pass it on the way to this cabin. But did finally find it after driving around a bit on our check-out day.
