This house is stunning! The pictures don’t do it justice. The furniture and beds are very high quality, the kitchen is stocked, there are cozy blankets everywhere and the view was spectacular. There is quite a steep driveway coming in which was a little concerning given the snow when we departed, but there is a parking pad for 2 cars at the top which helps. We with 5 adults and 5 kids ages 8-14 and we all had an amazing time. Would definitely like to visit again.

Clean

My husband and I took a to 2 day mini getaway at this property. The house was great! Clean, spacious, nice televisions. The two porches are great. Great view of the lake. The nearbors are close and were very loud but not owners fault. Also. I understand this is a new rental. But, for the price a night. Hand soap, coffee, maybe little shampoos would be nice. Overall would stay here again.

BED BUGS!

The first morning after waking up at the deep creek lodge I had some bites. I figured they were regular bug bites but it happened the next morning too. No one else got it so I assumed it wasn't bed bugs. Once I was home I checked out images of bed bug bites an there was no doubt of what it was. The company says they sent a pest control company y out there and there were no bed bugs. However I'm covered in them. I've been home one night and have been sanitizing all my clothes, everything I brought and my entire house. I don't normally write reviews and I'm a frequent traveler. This has never been something I thought would happen. Now I'll be paranoid whenever I travel!

Amazing Place/Poor Communication with the Realty Co (Railey Vacations)

-The person/people that own this home did not miss a beat. Everything is upscale and beautiful. Leather couches. Game boards. Nice mattresses. New TVS. Beautiful Polywood outdoor furniture. Working log fireplace. Top of line appliances. You name it! -The owners need to know that the company they’re using (Railey Vacation Homes) to service their VRBO guests is a little bit lousy. We arrived at 4pm and there was trash and bags of dirty linens on the porch and a cleaning lady in the threshold of the house with her car parked and running outside. She said that there were no clean linens for any of the beds and she was getting ahold of someone. We tried to use the code provided to open the door (even though she was already in the house) and it did not work. She tried assisting us. Still no luck. We called and spoke with the Railey folks to let them know we were checking in As we were unpacking our valuables- two Railey house cleaners were making the new linens/beds. It was awkward having strangers (with their sneakers on) in our 3k+ vacay home with us and our children and valuables. It ruined the “we made it!” vibe! -We tried locking the house to go into town. Code didn’t work. Had to call Railey again and get it reset. They seem overwhelmed. We are waiting until their “Guest Relation” meeting on Wed. to see if they can remediate this a bit. We will update the review as needed. Beautiful house. Great place. Great view. Steep driveway (hope it doesn’t snow)!
