What We Love

Seaside Serenity is a two bedroom, two bathroom ground floor apartment in a boutique Art Deco block in Coogee, Sydney, about 100 metres from the sand at Coogee Beach. It sleeps up to 4 guests in two queen bedrooms, one with its own ensuite and one with an adjoining study, with a marble kitchen, a dining nook, underfloor heating in both bathrooms, air conditioning in the main bedroom and a private laundry. Street parking only. Rated 5 stars by past guests.

It suits couples, friends travelling together, small families (a travel cot and high chair are available), corporate guests and remote workers who need a proper study near the beach, and longer stays, with a full kitchen, dishwasher and laundry.

Living, Kitchen & Dining
The open plan living area has timber floors, comfortable seating for movie nights, and custom built-in shelving for books and treasures. The kitchen has sleek white cabinetry, marble benchtops and splashback, under-cabinet lighting, a gas cooktop, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. The dining nook, with its built-in peach banquette, is the perfect spot for morning coffee in the sun. A TV with Netflix and streaming services makes for easy nights in.

Sleep & Work
Both bedrooms have queen beds, crisp linen and black-out blinds. The main bedroom has its own ensuite and reverse-cycle air conditioning. The second bedroom opens onto a sunroom study with a built-in desk and bookshelves, ideal for working holidays. Both bathrooms have underfloor heating.

Garden
The apartment opens onto a lush shared garden, a lovely place to unwind after a day at the beach.

The Neighbourhood

- Morning Swims & Breakfast: Start with a sunrise dip at Wylie's Baths, the heritage tidal pool carved into the rocks south of the beach. Afterwards, Coogee Courtyard Cafe is known for its chilli scrambled eggs and cold-pressed juices, Cali Press is famous for its açaí bowls, and Eksentrik is a local favourite for a flat white.
- Beaches & Coastal Walks: Gordons Bay is a sheltered cove loved for swimming and snorkelling. The Coogee to Bondi coastal walk winds 6 kilometres past Gordons Bay, Clovelly, Bronte and Tamarama, with a stop for a glass of wine at the Clovelly Bowling Club along the way. Back in Coogee, Gelatissimo is the place for gelato on the grassy reserve above the beach.
- Lunch by the Water: La Spiaggia serves pizza and Italian with ocean views, and Coogee Pavilion is ideal for pizza and cocktails overlooking the beach.
- Evenings: Start with cocktails and a Mediterranean menu at Shutters as the sun goes down. For dinner, Sugarcane is known for its caramelised pork hock, Barzura has relaxed dining at the southern end of the beach, and Coogee Wine Room offers Australian wines and share plates in an intimate setting. Finish with drinks on the Coogee Pavilion rooftop.

Buses from Coogee run to the CBD, Randwick and Bondi Junction, Uber and GoGet car share are readily available, and street parking is available nearby.

Home Truths

- The back stairs are currently being replaced. Please do not use the back door, which is out of action. The BBQ is unavailable until the work is complete.
- Air conditioning is in the main bedroom only. Electric heating is provided, and both bathrooms have underfloor heating.
- The washer and dryer are private to the apartment but located in a shared laundry area.
- The garden is shared with other residents.
- There is no on-site parking. Street parking is available nearby.
- This is a smoke-free property, and pets are not permitted.
