However, you could have informed us of any of these issues that you have raised, during your stay. Our team here at Days Inn, Sylvan Lake is always committed to providing quality customer service. We are surprised to know that any of those issues have not been communicated to the Manager/ Front Desk (24hrs operational) at any given time while you stayed at our hotel, in which case we could have offered you an alternative room. We always accept good and bad reviews. Without any such communication or complaint, it is unsuitable and unprofessional to write a review like this. Let me explain a few things regarding your comments. About a number of pillows, We have provided 3 pillows for every Queen size room and 4 pillows for King size rooms and we provided extra after you requested. Regarding the “complementary” breakfast, it is provided by us free of charge. We do not provide extra services or takeaway facilities for this free service. It is our hotel policy. Every Sunday our restaurant has a Buffet brunch and it is not free. Seems you have confused this Sunday Buffet with your free breakfast. We understand that you have posted all your reviews, you were irritated since you were not allowed to eat from Buffet free of charge which is a value of 21.99, and you were not allowed to take away the free complimentary breakfast. If you look at other reviews by our guests, you will find that they are very positive about our Breakfast, hotel and staff. We are always happy to facilitate our valuable guests, but that does not mean that you can do whatever you want inside the hotel. We would very much appreciate it if you are not coming back.

Hi Michael,Thank you very much for taking the time to post a comment on our hotel. Our hotel’s restaurant “Lake House Kitchen” is located just on the ground floor. In addition, there are 2 other restaurants just 50 meters away, and also a Pizza outlet in the vicinity. We do not understand why you have said ‘no eating places around the area’. Downtown (1.5 km away) has so many other restaurants. Do you think 100 restaurants need to be located around the hotel?You have also said that the parking lot is small. Our parking lot is one of the biggest parking lots in the town, which can host more than 40 vehicles. It seems you have stayed inside your hotel room the whole day, and have not observed any of these things. Otherwise, it seems you have some personal issue with us, or this may be a deliberate review to damage the image of the hotel.

Dear Chantal,Thank you for sharing your comments and sending this review. You have stayed with us for 4 days. Our hotel policy is that housekeepers remove linen and do bedding once every 3 days. We do not do full bedding every day. However, remove garbage and replace the used towels daily as guests put used towels on the ground. You have mentioned that our housekeepers did not “make the bed very well”. You are correct. Maybe you have expected us to do a daily linen change, which is not our practice or policy. Again, we do bedding once every 3 days. But of course, if any guest asks for bedding or cleaning every day we are willing to do that. Hope you would understand.

Hi Danny,Thank you very much for your review regarding our hotel and restaurant. For your information, our hotel was almost full during these days. If you check the reviews from other guests, you will notice that there are no such complaints as you claim that “the entire 3rd floor was frozen”. However, in your case on heating of the room, no one complained about the heating who stayed the day before, but we have made a special attempt to solve the issue of the heater, and we have provided you with an additional heater as well. In addition, before providing an additional heater we asked you if you needed an alternative room, but you were not interested. Though we attempted to resolve your issue, it seems you have no gratitude at all. Even though we informed you if your room did not have blankets at the designated place, you just had to inform us. Regarding cold breakfast, we have to specifically state that our hotel provides hot breakfast Free of Charge. We cannot believe it was cold. If it happens your meal is taken you more than 30 minutes later. I went through our records and I found that the 3 of you had free hot breakfast without any complaints to the server. It seems that you are making a false claim. You asked for a hot chocolate drink free of charge thereafter. We told you that we do not provide hot chocolate free. But finally, I asked you to go and grab from the restaurant free as I already told to server. It appears that you have written these bad comments, as you were unable to gain further advantages, and out of your personal irritation due to that. We are happy to know that you will not visit us again.

Dear Benjamin,Thank you for your reviews highlighting with your bad experience.Usually, we keep 4 towels in a 2 queen bed room assuming there will be 4 persons per day. We replace towels the next day if the guest has used them. it's inappropriate if you ask for more towels on the same day evening. There should be one extra towel for all 3 people. We cannot believe that the breakfast was cold as we are providing a hot breakfast. Thank you for your understanding and hope you will visit us again.

You could also check our website directly, rather than reading various comments on Google. In our website, we have clearly stated that we are not a pet-friendly hotel. Also note that when you make a reservation through a 3rd party agency, you are making payments directly to that 3rd party. We have not received any payment from you, and it is not practical to ask for a refund from us. You have to discuss with the 3rd party agent regarding any financial transactions that you had done with them. Also, we cannot recommend or suggest any other hotels or places to you, as you have mentioned. All these things could have been prevented if you directly contacted us, and checked our website for information before you reserve our hotel. We are more than happy to serve you, if you could contact us directly, for any future reservations.
