"Our stay was perfect for visiting York. Just a short drive to the nearest Park and Ride. The B&B was excellent with a beautiful room, super comfy bed and bed linen and in such a peaceful rural location. We had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Catherine, our host was really lovely and welcoming and cooked us a fabulous breakfast. We would highly recommend this to our friends and will definitely be back! "

"Warm welcome received by host. Very friendly. Parking to rear of hotel bit of a squeeze as was busy but not a big issue. Room on top floor was quirky with comfortable bed and leather sofa. Quiet and spotlessly clean with a fridge whi h came in handy and even a microwave hidden away. Full breakfast was piping hot and plenty enough. The fruit plate was a little sparse to be fair but it was exactly what it says on the tin...a plate with fruit so no complaints. Great location in a quiet area but...

"Good location close to the Minster. Room was on the main road side of the building, but we'll sound proofed. Some noise from the bar, but this is expected in a pub. Problem with loss of hot water pressure on the final morning was irritating, but these things happen. Clean and comfortable. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on the food. "

Shower tray found slippery which made it awkward stepping into out of shower. Non slip mat would help. Large professional taken photos of area on wall in dining room for sale. Tempted. "If you are looking to explore York and need a base for a couple of nights then look no further than The Burton Stone Inn. A family business with wonderful hosts. Ample parking, clean and tidy room with decent shower. A very good hearty breakfast to prepare you for your 10 minute easy stroll into the city. "Great place for a short stay. Clean & good facilities bit of confusion over payment…. Thought paid up front but hotel said not… so this is main reason for 4 not 5. Also close to late night pubs/ clubs…. So if you’re wanting to go to see early… probably not the place for you as the music can be quite loud. However, not an issue for us & slept really well. Ultimately good value for money & would stay again."
