“This is a nice ‘Bach’ type apartment with a lovely view over the nearby hills. Inside it was clean and had good amenities. It is part of a building used for art and craft , the ‘frost and fire’ gallery. Unfortunately while we were there the kiln shed next door was in use, which meant the occasional whiff of smoke from the kilns when the wind changed direction, and sound and voices coming from it throughout the first night as it was being used. “Unit 9 is the lower level of a house. It was very noisy (we could hear talking, and every step the people took above us, and even snoring), but this was mentioned in the unit description, so take note. The floor was very dirty so bring slippers or wear shoes when inside. There was no door on the ice box, so don’t expect to have ice cubes. We had good communication with the hostess, Nicki, before and during our stay, and we were able to get into the unit a half hour early, which was very……

“The house was very clean and tidy with plenty of space inside and outside for a family. It is close to beaches and to Takaka. Although it doesn’t have wifi or TV, there is a screen you can hook a device into and a PS3 with games. The only down side is that the road is a bit noisy at times, but it’s not very busy ”
