The Marlin House – Cozy King Suite Cabin in Talkeetna

  • Welcome to The Marlin House, a cozy and thoughtfully built cabin just a short walk from Talkeetna’s charming downtown. This one-bedroom retreat was a true labor of love — a project I started with dreams of retiring here one day. After four years of hands-on building and design, it’s become a perfect blend of comfort, craftsmanship, and Alaskan charm.

Inside, you’ll find a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, a comfortable sofa sleeper for two, and all the comforts of home — including a full kitchen, laundry, and fast Wi-Fi. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway or a weeklong adventure, you’ll have everything you need to relax and unwind.

Step outside and explore! The Marlin House is just a 15-minute walk from Denali Brew Pub, Talkeetna’s beloved craft brewery, and close to the town’s best restaurants, and local shops. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the area’s world-class fishing, hiking, hunting, and sightseeing, while those seeking quiet can enjoy peaceful mornings on the porch surrounded by the beauty of Alaska.

Come experience small-town Alaska with all the comforts of home — and see why guests say this little house feels built with heart.

We have stayed in VRBO all over the country and this is one of the nicest places we have stayed in. The bed was amazingly comfortable. They had everything we needed to cook meals. He tv was huge and had access to all the shows ans streaming we needed. Location is close to Talkeetna and a great place to unplug. Bathroom was spacious and had a washer and dryer. A great place to stay.

This place was just what we needed. It was a nice reprieve from our 2 week journey of Alaska. It was well stocked and very comfortable. Very close to town too. We didn’t walk to town but it is probably a 20 min walk. The washer and dryer were a bonus! Very clean and had a lot of miscellaneous supplies if needed. The bed was very comfortable too. Would definitely recommend!

Talkeetna remains an Alaskan "bush" community. Do not expect manicured lawns but the cabin is well furnished with a good bed, internet and tv. I don't think we used the tv but it is available. It is an interesting town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Talkeetna at the Marlin House. It was the perfect Valentine’s Day getaway from the big city. The cabin was easy to locate. It was clean and cozy and warm! Communicating with the host was great! We will definitely book there again and recommend the Marlin House to visitors from the lower 48. Thank you!
