"Staying at this “home stay” was a great experience. The staff was very eager to please. It was so helpful to have them pick us up from Beijing in a very comfortable car and then drive us back after our stay.
If you want to see the wall with almost no crowds, stay here. We arrived and did the cable car side in the afternoon. Our host advised this (and arranged for all tickets at no extra charge) as this side would be less crowded in the afternoon. He was right.
We got up early and went to the other side at opening. It was amazing to climb the wall nearly alone. Phenomenal. Our family has wonderful, lifetime memories.
