"This is a wonderfully refurbished motel in a part of Oakland that's a little bit rough around the edges but is safe and close to Piedmont Avenue (which is great). The owners have redone the hotel in cheerful colors and spotless rooms. Drew, the manager, is great as is the entire staff. I will definitely go back if I need a place in Oakland in the future."

"We had a spacious corner room with a view. Hotel was charming, with a great bar. Location just off Shattuck is great for walking up to campus or exploring Berkeley. The MARTA station is right across the street, which would make access to SFO and San Francisco by public transportation easy. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast as well as the numerous restaurants and bookshops in walking distance."

"Front desk staff were consistently kind and helpful during my stay. My travel dates kept changing and I rebooked the hotel through Expedia each time, but thankfully the staff were great and I was able to stay in the same hotel room the whole time. Nice hotel, parking is expensive though!"
