Let me start by saying that Alan, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming, and the room itself was very clean. However, the cleaner used on the tile left a very strong smell that irritated my eyes if I stayed in the room too long. I ended up getting a candle to help cut the smell, which did improve things.
The motel itself is quite dated. The beds were older but still comfortable, and the rooms only offer single and twin beds. I was glad to have both a fridge and microwave in the room. The bathroom was very small, but again, very clean.
The location is convenient, right in downtown Haileybury, just up the street from the beach and waterfront, with the LCBO directly across the street.

I had read some very poor reviews of the owner and property so was a little worried. What a pleasant surprise. The owner was very nice and had some great ideas for our stay. He always tried to assist and was pleasant at all times. We had some great conversations. Not sure what people were complaining about. Great stay

There is no one at the motel after 7 pm. You have to call ni.ber to gdt the code for the lock box which has your key and wifi instructions. I had to call at least 5 times to get someone to call me. The rooms are dated and "tired". I had a problem with the TV, but a technician came and fixed it. I didn't eat the provided breakfast because it was heavily carb based and no fruit, but there was yogourt. Coffee ends at 9am, when breakfast ends. All the bedding eeds to be replaced but the i slept ok and it was nice and warm. AND NO BEDBUGS!!! So overall, adequate.

Great area, lakeside walkable distance clean rooms but, breakfast was a semi breakfast not a full breakfast they don't offer eggs or pancakes, or any kind of sausage,it needs to be improved.
