With less water flowing, guides take you 3 to 4 miles up the canyon with some spots having to portage. But take it all in stride because the views are breathtaking. I recommend Big Bend River Tours. You might get lucky and have the guides that take you a half mile up a side canyon. An excellent day excursion in the out of the way national park.

We hiked further than the 0.7 mile indicated on the signage, and ended up scooting and scrambling up the most interesting narrow and smooth chutes. We heard the song of the elusive canyon wren, too. The location is only 4 minutes drive to Big Bend which is a big plus for us. We stayed there 4 nights, and the host is responsive and keep the trash in our room cleaned every day. The check in and check out thrue texting is also convenient for us because we check in late and check out early thanks to the smart door lock. The layout is practical and in room appliances (microwave, fridge, hair blower) are also help us staying in there for easy breakfast and dinner. Overall, I recommend this place.

Great location, good communication, close to gas and market. The bed was really comfortable and the room was spacious. They serviced the room, which was an unexpected service. Shower was clean, but grout needs some extra attention. Overall great experience!

I really enjoyed my four-night stay at the Emory suite. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, and in very new condition. Everything felt new and comfortable, and I especially appreciated having fresh new towels every day. Overall, it was a very pleasant and relaxing experience, and we would definitely come back again. One small suggestion: it would be helpful to have a chopping board and scissors available.

The Casita was comfy and convenient to Big Bend, Terlingua Ghost Town and Big Bend Ranch State Park. We enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pit and watching the stars that shone so brilliantly in the dark night sky. The accommodations were clean and well equipped. The only thing missing was a tv, but we did not come to the area to watch tv.

Super clean, responsive owner. We came in at night and couldn’t find the casitas. Maybe put the directions in the response email. We were looking on the wrong side of the road which also belonged to the owner. Comfy bed!

We had a great stay in the Emory Suite. It was clean and comfortable and the perfect size for our family of four. We loved how close it was to amenities as well as Big Bend. We would definitely stay there again!

Great location (less than 10 minutes from the gate of Big Bend National park, very convenient for those who want to go to the park after dark to do star gazing). Very convenient access and good facilities. Very clear communications from the host. If only the sofa bed wasn’t that squishy (which made my son sleep not very well), I would give it a perfect 5.
