Sea Edge Beachside Hotel

8/10 Good

"Comfortable place to spend a couple of nights. The king size bed was so comfortable! Staff was friendly and helpful. We were surprised to find that, after being out for the day, we returned to our room to find the television, which was an adequate size, had been replaced with a brand new 55" (at least) television. There were a few quirky things about our particular room (don't know whether they are all the same), such as no closet, wardrobe , or anywhere else to hang clothes. Instead of drapes or curtains on the sliding patio door, there was a large roller blind. Because we were on the ground floor, right beside the office/lounge, we were afforded almost no privacy unless the blind was down. Regardless, it was a terrific location, overlooking the endless sands at low tide."

"Seems like a recently renovated building, though lots of the renovations seem cheaply done. We walked into our room and the first thing we noticed was that it smelt of food heated up in the microwave. Also we stayed 2 nights, and they never fixed our room up, but someone came around at 6pm and asked if we needed it done, but by this time we had already come back from a day out. I would recommend this hotel for $150 a night to someone, but nothing more then that."

Coast Courtenay Hotel

"We have stayed at this hotel before and find it very conveniently located right next to a good shopping mall and with easy access to Cumberland and Comox. Our room, two queen beds, was quite spacious with lots of room for both suitcases. Free water, juice and nibbles were in our room on arrival, and an all-day free coffee machine in the lounge provided many varieties of coffee and tea. The hotel has been recently renovated and was very clean with comfortable beds. The restaurant is right across the parking lot, but it is very popular, so allow wait time on weekends. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and we would definitely recommend the Coast Courtenay."

"The rooms were clean and the staff was so helpful and kind. The only think that was totally out of their control was that our room was by the road and was very noisy during the day and into the evening. All in all it was a great place to stay and reasonably priced. I would definitely stay again!"
