English Inn of Charlottesville

"I booked this hotel based on other reviews and the English Inn lived up to all the 5 star reviews. You can smell how clean the hotel is when you arrive. The room was spacious, very clean, good amenities in the bathroom , 2 TVs, a full refrigerator, full breakfast and the English teatime from 4-6 was a great unexpected bonus. Will definitely stay here again!"

"Nice room...thin walls though so a bit noisy. Need to be comfortable with no on site staff. No issues with check in or check out online, but the lock on our balcony door was broken...which given the balconies are connected would have been an issue had my husband not been with me. So I did not try to contact anyone to fix it. TV remote also not working...again no front desk to remedy the situation quickly so we just did without TV. But overall not a bad experience."

"I would highly recommend this hotel. The room was in excellent condition, the staff were very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was plentiful. The only downfall was the cost of snacks. I would recommend bringing your own. Although they did give complimentary bottles of water, a candy bar was $3, a Coke was $4, and a bottle of Smart water was $8. Just bring your own if you like to snack."

"So the reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I didnt have a remote in my room when i checked in. I got one from the front desk only to find the other one behind a dresser in the toom with spider webs also all behind it which means it hasnt been cleaned behind. Also asked multiple times about late check out and was told would have to wait till the morning to ask well that is pointless as i was trying to not have to wake up early. So if i have to wake up to find out about late check then why not jus check out."
