The Huey entered production in 1960 and first saw service during the war in Vietnam with 7,000 units being deployed. This war was known as the “Helicopter War”, with the Huey playing a major role logging over 7,000,000 flight hours but also resulted in over 3,300 aircraft lost and staggering human casualties loosing close to over 2,300 pilots and crew members.
