Relaxing stay

Perfect weekend getaway

Location was perfect and place was clean with all you need. Spacious bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. Close to Blackwater Falls and Douglas Falls. Lots of cute shops and close to Davis for more art shops. Highly recommend this place!

Delightful winter getaway

We stayed here while were enjoying Blackwater Falls State Park. The property was spotless and in a great location. The furniture and beds were really comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. I look forward to staying here again!

We loved being so close to the Purple Fiddle, grandma’s house and Picnic Tacos! The rental had all we needed for cooking and the beds were comfortable.

Perfect getaway spot

Stayed here while doing a few days of skiing at Timberline and Canaan Valley, and it was perfect. Convenient to the resorts and dining in Davis and Thomas. Clean, cozy accommodations. Host was responsive and helpful leading up to the visit. Will definitely be back.

One of the best mini vacation getaways Ive taken my family on!! We absolutely loved HB North and will most definitely be staying again in the near future!! Very clean and welcoming with lots to do and more than we ever imagined! You will not be disappointed! !disappointed!!

Crafting and Skiing in a Quirky Snow Storm

The unit was much more than we expected, even with the beautiful pictures of the online listing. Darlene was able to extend our stay an extra night due to the snow storm, giving me an extra day of skiing!

Great place

This place was perfect for our stay in Thomas for a fly fishing festival where my husband was a vendor. There is traffic noise as it is close to the road, but we knew that beforehand. I can't say enough how comfortable the beds were, loved them! It had everythi g we needed for a great weekend stay.

Perfect for a quick ski get-away

We stayed at Happy Bottom North for a weekend ski trip with the family. The cabin was perfect, it had everything we needed and even things we didn’t know we needed (air mattress, hot cider for the kids). It was spotless and very well maintained. If you're looking for a nice place to stay while playing at Canaan Valley or Timberline, (each about 20 miniyes away) this is it!

Quick Christmas Getaway

My family of four and fur baby had a wonderful time. We chose this place for the location. It was very close to Blackwater Falls where we went sledding and sight seeing. We enjoyed the local shops. We brought food for the first night since it was Christmas and appreciated the pots and pans and spices. We got burritos the 2nd night. Yumm! We also enjoyed a glass blowing demonstration up the road a mile or so. On our last day we got coffee and pastries from Tip Top coffee. We appreciated their GF options. Overall it was a wonderful trip. We would love to come back!

Thumbs up to HB North

We had at great stay at HB North. The space was great, and all was as described. All looks new, very clean. Beds were comfortable and the two bathrooms were equipped with all the necessities. The kitchen was perfect for our needs. We also enjoyed the large screen TV, the gas fireplace, and the blue tooth sound system. Great view off the balcony. It was quiet though its just off the main road leading into the tiny town of Thomas, which has some nice restaurants (try Elender's and Picnic). We would stay at HB North again next year if it's available.

WV Heaven!

I’ve been going to the area for 20 years. Thomas is a unique town and convenient to so many great hiking and mountain biking places. Also great restaurants with the food at The Billy being my absolute favorite! I’ve rented many places over the years and HB is currently my favorite spot! Perfect size with fantastic wifi for remote work. Working from the deck was great! The rental is cutely decorated and also up to date for all technical devices. Super clean, open and spacious. Darlene is an absolute doll with excellent communication. I can’t wait to stay again & often!

Exactly what we wanted

Bear's Lair was the perfect place for our week-long artist retreat in Thomas. This 2 BR/2BA is just up the hill and around the corner from the Purple Fiddle. Of the 4 homes on Fulton Ln, this upper unit was set back from the road a bit, and felt more private with its entrance around back. The wrap-around deck and fire pit area made evenings special. The kitchen included everything we needed to cook most nights. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. Everything felt new and well-maintained. A lot of thought and care went into creating a welcoming space. There is road noise from large trucks that come through town starting pretty early in the morning. Consider bringing a white noise machine or ear plugs if you like to sleep in. Our host Darlene was lovely and responsive. We have already booked for next year.
