Disappointing Stay

It is clear the owners of this property have never stayed here (or not in years, or else all the complaints I list below would likely be addressed). I have never had to leave a poor review such as this. The only redeeming qualities of this rental were the location on Crystal Mountain Property and the aesthetics of the rental (it was clean and looked nice). That is where the positives end. Beds were terribly uncomfortable, with no actual comforter on master bed (just a small fleece blanket that didn’t even reach each edge of the king size bed) and scratchy sheets. No AC throughout the unit, rather one wall unit in each bedroom and one unit in the Living Room (large space shared with kitchen). The Living Room AC unit didn’t work, and we were staying during a heat advisory with 90 degree temps. Both bedroom AC units were horribly loud so we had to turn off to sleep. No hot water, blinds in master were cracked and kept out no light, blinds in living room didnt close for privacy. Entry lock was difficult and took numerous attempts every time- shorten the codes. The kitchen was not well equipped - no scissors or a sharp knife set in the kitchen. There was no access to pools included, despite the listing mentioning it. No overhead lighting/light with switch in either bedroom. Terrible communication from Vacasa throughout the stay (quick AI replies, or I could call, but they were terrible to interact with and never fixed the broken AC during a heat advisory (98 degree temps)

Unfortunate Stay

The most significant problem was the lack of sufficient hot water for showers, a necessity after a day of skiing. Another major issue was the extremely dirty dishwasher, which was unusable due to piles of food debris, including whole french fries. Upon arrival, we also found a bag of trash sitting outside the door.Additionally, several aspects of the property required updating. These weren't a big deal but stacked on top of everything else, just ended up being extremely frustrating. That included broken blinds in the master bedroom, a burned-out light in the closet entry, and a broken sliding chain lock. A kitchen window wouldn't latch shut, allowing cold air in. We attempted to use the fireplace to compensate, but it was not working. When I contacted guest services, I was informed it was not listed as an amenity, which was apparently my fault for assuming it worked.The following day, we discovered the inadequate hot water supply. I contacted customer service multiple times throughout our five-day stay, but the communication was severely lacking. The only action taken was a visit to confirm the hot water issue. Frustrated, we left a day early and secured alternative accommodations to ensure we could shower. We love Crystal Mountain and have been visiting for 20 years but have never stayed at a Vacasa rental and unfortunately won't again due to the extreme lack of communication.

Cozy little place in easy walking distance to the chairlift. We had a comfortable, relaxing stay; a perfect fit for 3 people. I would stay here again.

Ski trip with teenagers!

The location is about the best we have stayed in at Crystal Mountain. Literally 2 minutes walk to the Buck chairlift so that was amazing! Bunk room was perfect for the teenagers I had with me although erratically either too cold or too warm and the fan/AC was INCREDIBLY loud and right up by one of the bunk beds so not the most useful but they did have fans so that was good. Apartment is a really good size - large living room, huge bedroom - for a group skiing. The biggest problem was the door code (as I read in other reviews). On the night we arrived it took more than 20 minutes to get entry to the apartment - I tried the code multiple times in below zero temps and falling snow and it wouldn't work. I called Vacasa who gave me a different code to use on a lockbox on the other door so we did get in eventually. They said they would send someone to look at it but they didn't come until almost 48 hours later - nice guy did come and replaced the batteries but it still worked erratically. Sometimes it would open and sometimes it wouldn't. That is difficult to deal with when traveling with teens so I had to stay in all the time they were on the slopes in case they needed to get back in. Would recommend replacing blinds in master bedroom as a streetlight outside shines straight into the room all night through the missing slats and gaps. Overall, a great option for a ski trip with only a couple of minor issues.

Beautiful spot at Crystal Mtn

It was a great stay at the Condo. Close to everything and very comfortable. The only issue is had is that the blinds need to be replaced. The ones in the Master are cracked and give very little privacy as it’s the walkway going into the home from the parking lot so very busy.

Location, location, location!

Steps to the Buck chair lift, this cozy condo couldn’t have been more conveniently situated for a weekend ski trip. The place was clean and has a great layout with two full baths and a full-sized kitchen table for family meals. A new set of non-stick pans would have made cooking and cleanup easier, and replacing a few burnt-out lights would brighten things up. The fireplace vent was quite loud, so we opted to leave it off—unfortunate, as it added lovely ambiance. Overall, a fantastic stay with just a few minor tweaks needed!

Northern Michigan getaway

We enjoyed staying at this property. It is a great location within Crystal Mountain, and is walkable to the pools, restaurants, and ski hill. The property was well appointed. The only reason for a 4 star rating instead of a 5 star rating is that we were unable to use the stove top for cooking as it immediately began to smoke due to food build up. It would be fine with a good deep cleaning of the range. We would definitely stay here again.

Crystal Mtn

The door lock was very finicky and sometimes took numerous tries to open. The air conditioner in the bedroom sounded like metal shredder and made it impossible to sleep. The one in living room was worse so we never ran it as the weather didn't really require it because of the windows. The blinds in the master bedroom were in rough shape and wouldn't go all the way to the floor and had missing slats so they didn't do a very good job.

Close to the slopes

The property was just as described online. The chalet was just a short walk across the street to Kinlochen and the Buck lift. It was clean and the heat worked great for us. The only suggestions I would make for the management company is to get updated pans to cook with that don't stick, and a new keypad for the main entry door. Having to punch in 10 numbers just to get inside was a bit much. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay!!

Spacious property, and perfect for a large family. The A/C units worked nonstop and well in the bedrooms, although the constant turning on and off was a little annoying. We never did figure out how to control the A/C in the main living area, but we got by. So, a few quirks, but we would stay there again.

We stayed 3 nights. Condo location was perfect as we walked to many places at tge resort. We were a little disappointed with the small deck and only 2 chairs on it. Also, water in showers was only luke warm. 2nd bedroom NEEDS more lighting as well.
