The Dunes Hotel

8/10 Good

"Overall, I had a good stay at The Dunes. It wasn’t my absolute favorite place I’ve stayed, but it was clean, comfortable, and had several nice amenities that made the experience enjoyable. The biggest highlight is definitely the location. It’s right in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, just a couple blocks south of Arenas Road and directly across from the free downtown parking garage. Being able to walk to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife was a huge plus. The hotel also has a nice fitness center and a small game room, which is a great option for families looking to get the kids out of the heat for a bit. There was also a hot tub and pool area, although I didn’t end up using them since my stay was in the middle of June and it was already plenty warm outside. There were just a couple of things that kept it from being a five-star stay for me. The elevators are very small and feel a bit outdated. Also, if your room faces the pool, be aware that you’ll hear quite a bit of noise from the courtyard. It wasn’t terrible, but if you’re planning to sleep in or are a light sleeper, it’s something to keep in mind. Overall, I’d stay here again, especially because of the location. If being within walking distance of everything downtown Palm Springs has to offer is your priority, The Dunes is definitely worth considering."

Holiday Inn Express Palm-Desert by IHG

"Yeah, the moment we walked in to our reservation my family felt that we made the right choice to book our night at this property. The Front Desk Agent right away knew why we had traveled to Palm Desert for leisure. We drove into town from San Diego for a concert so the amenities on site were perfect for this short stay; the fitness center is functional, the pool is big, and the breakfast lady deserves all the gratuity we can give her! When we got back to the hotel after the concert, the Night Auditor shared that his mother and grandmother were at the same concert and told us a funny anectdote about his family which made us laugh. We did not have much interaction from housekeeping other than asking for a couple of towels which they promptly provided. The only part that was off putting, but not serious enough to like complain about, was a young woman at the front desk would not let me finish explaining before she interjected with questions but she just tryin' to be 'fecient."

"Rooms and hotel was clean, just a little outdated and the fact that it doesn't have an actual elevator just a lift that is a bit scary to use it. Didn't really interacted with the staff. Only when we checked in and out. But they seemed nice they were courteous and did allow us a late check out which it was very accommodating and nice of them to allow it. Will consider in staying here again."

Indian Wells Resort Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"I enjoyed my stay here at the Indian Wells Resort. Room was clean. The hotel staff were lovely. The only thing I had a minor problem with was the pool temp. It’s lukewarm and hoped for it to be cooler. I’m sure the 100+ degree weather probably makes that difficult to maintain and keep it cool. But other than that, I loved my stay here and plan to return in the near future."

The Westin Desert Willow Villas, Palm Desert

"The exterior cleanliness could definitely be improved. There were several large dead bugs near our door and elevators. Lots of hair and little debris in the pools it felt a little gross. We did not receive house cleaning during our stay due to only staying 3 days. Very expensive parking fee on top of an expensive stay with very little amenities. Therefore did not see value for the price. I felt a little tricked and harassed upon check in with promise of free gift only to be presented with a sales pitch and no gift, silly but it’s the little things you know. We liked the water slides and spacious interior of the room. Also the robes were a nice touch. Overall it was ok but could be better."
