Comfort and a Few Quirks at Las Gaviotas
Our recent stay at Las Gaviotas just before Christmas was overall pleasant. This gated community ensures safety and security, and boasts excellent facilities such as a top-notch tennis court, a charming albeit small beach, and a swimming pool accompanied by a hot tub (note: the pool is unheated). It's an ideal spot for spending quality outdoor time with family. It's also nice for family strolls along the coastline. The area around is safe, with several restaurants within driving distance. A major grocery store is conveniently located about 7 minutes away by car. There are many rooms for sleeping accommodations spacious, a lovely balcony and a modern kitchen, and it's only a 3-minute walk from the private beach. While generally clean, some aspects could use attention. The bathrooms feel dated, and certain areas would benefit from a fresh coat of paint and minor repairs, like replacing a rusted window. The ground-floor area feels somewhat basement-like. Communication with the owner was smooth via email. However, a significant downside was the unreliable internet connection, which varied in quality and proved challenging for remote work on some days. This might be a consideration for those needing consistent online access. Despite these minor issues, Las Gaviotas is a recommendable choice, especially for larger groups, provided you're comfortable with a few imperfections.

Great location for a golf/surf trip. Couple minute walk to the surf spot and great amenities. Jon was accommodating to our early check in request, making our trip go perfectly as planned.

Our stay at Las Gaviotas was amazing! The house was comfortable, clean, light, and bright, and had a fantastic ocean view from the upstairs patio. The location was great with a close-by short path to the surf beach. The Las Gaviotas community is clean and well maintained. Our host communicated well, provided helpful information about the restaurants close by, and made our check in and check out easy. We will definitely stay there again.

Great fam vacay
We came to Las Gaviotas to celebrate my birthday and Father’s Day with our 3 kids. The house is really nice and included all the comforts of home. It had more room than even our family of needed and the host, Jon was fantastic! He was very responsive and gave awesome recommendations prior to our arrival. A trip highlight were the daily fresh fish taco and margarita stands at the community pool. It made for a very fresh, authentic and delicious meal without having to leave the property! We are already planing our next trip back!

Great Stay in Las Gaviotas
This a great option for a group heading to Las Gaviotas. Great house, experience nd location: right next to the beach shortcut and with fantastic views from the upper deck. One important thing to note: the 2 upstairs bedrooms are nice and well done; the downstairs large bedroom is fine, however the downstairs small room with a bunk bed and shingle is pretty miserable (small, dark, and bleak). I would recommend sticking to groups that don't need that 4th "room." Good spot!

Wonderful Stay

The gouse is situated right in front of the main surf break. We enjoyed the easy access to both the beach and the pool. As for the house, it was great. We walked in to a pleasant surprise with a brand new kitchen. The pictures on the website have not been updated. Everything was great.

Great Getaway!
We had a great time in Los Gaviotas. The community is safe and well taken care of. Everyone was very friendly. The check in/out process was simple and effortless. The property was clean and all amenities worked as they should. The house is located less than a 5 minute walk to either the pool or beach. Jon reached out prior to our arrival with all instructions including driving directions, dining and activity recommendations, and even contact information for a driver if needed. We are looking forward to returning!

Awesome home!
So happy to have stayed ar Jon’s place. Super clean and open upstairs kitchen/dining/living room area right off two beautiful glass doors that completely open to a good sized patio overlooking the ocean and surfers. We don’t normally like sleeping “downstairs” but we did and loved it! The queen bed and master bathroom were perfect! Thank you Jon!

Fabulous trip and fabulous property
We were beyond shocked when we arrived at this fabulous property. John was very accommodating and very quick to reply with our requests. This place had a magnificent ocean view easy access to the beach and tons of space for our family and even had room for another family but we didn’t invite anyone else because we didn’t realize how large the place was. Everything you need was there in the house the only thing you need to bring is bath items, paper towels and your food water and coffee etc. They even provided shampoo/conditioner. This was our first day in Las Gaviotas and we will absolutely be returning as often as possible and we would love to rent John’s place again. We highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed!

We have stayed down here many times over the years and love it. There are a lot of things changing in the town but Gaviotas remains good old Gaviotas. The place was great for a getaway and housed easily the three couples that went done. Would highly recommend it.

This home was simply amazing, the description was exactly correct and we could not have asked for a better host! Jon was responsive from the time of booking to check out and even made sure I received all the necessary information for the property before we checked-in! The home was gorgeous and everything was in working order. The cleaning service did an amazing job prepping the home for our arrival and the instructions Jon left for the home were SO helpful! Went down for a quick boys trip to celebrate surviving into our 40’s. Jon’s place was perfect. Nice place. Easy access to the surf and jacuzzi. This property has a great view from the living room and large patio and is very close to the path to the sandy beach. Our family of 5 adults and one toddler found it very comfortable. Lots of natural light in the upstairs rooms. Las Gaviotas is a gem.

Cozy dreamy beach house
This beach house is exactly what I picture when looking for a nice cozy getaway place to vacation at along the beach with family/friends. And also has a Kitchen with a dishwasher & nice refrigerator. overall very comfortable without breaking the bank. It looks just like in the pictures & my favorite thing was all the sun light that comes through from the sky lights. Location is fantastic, literally a 5 min walk to the beach.

Quick family surf trip
My family and I headed down south for an AMAZING trip to Baja. It has been over 10 years since we crossed the border and we honestly had the best time.
