Beautiful riverside stay

We enjoyed the property and the accommodations near Todd, NC. It is very comfortable for sleeping and the large open area for socializing is great. Two large couches with built-in recliners are great for relaxing. My only suggestion for a first time guest would be to make sure you arrive in the light. It can be a little tricky to find when 1st arriving.

great stay

Very welcoming home. Loved how close to the river for fishing. Showers were great, hot water was quick and reliable. Great layout with a bedroom with its own bathroom on each of the floors.

Beautiful

The home is perfectly located with beautiful interiors. I loved the porches and the deck for listening to and viewing the river. The only drawback would be the water pressure and waiting so long for hot water. This is my 6th fall season staying in this area and the first home with such poor pressure.

Nice place clean great porch.

Nice

Place was nice, clean and roomy. We did have water pressure issues, but the agency called back and offered to come that night, but we decided to let them come in the morning. Gentleman was prompt and very nice. No more water issues the rest of the weekend. Loved looking over the river. The kids don’t know how to catch a fish.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I had a wonderful week at River Walk Cabin. We enjoyed hiking, fishing, shopping, antiquing and of course eating!. We spent time in Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and West Jefferson. The views were simply beautiful. The cabin was just right for our family of 5. It had everything we needed and the property management staff was very accommodating. Our property was clean and well-maintained. The only suggestion is that the living room couches need updating. We would definitely recommend River Walk Cabin.

could be better

mouse traps under beds -woke my wife up when a mouse was caught, that's how we know the traps are there. carpenter ant infestation. old dirty broken couches (quite gross). almost fell through the porch floor board. Have to cross road to get to New River. No easy access to the river. But once down in the river, it was quite fun. No real grassy area for any type of outdoor play. Toilets wouldn't flush properly. Would stay there again if things were updated, fixed and clean, just for the river activities.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is about 25 minutes away from Boone and is secluded up a hill. The driveway is steep but a 2WD car is sufficient. The cabin was clean but could use a number of upgrades. The towels were dingy with holes and a ball of hair in 2 of them. All beds in the house are full size, we did not notice this and it posed an issue for my husband, myself and our toddler. The bed sheets were old and had a lot of piling and the couches could definitely be replaced. We originally booked this cabin as we would be staying indoors a lot and watching movies. Unfortunately, the couches were very dirty (maybe to be expected with dogs allowed) and uncomfortable. The outdoors of the property were nice but wish there were more hiking trails around the area. Our dogs enjoyed running up and down the driveway chasing the ball. The wrap around porch is very nice. We ran out of propane after grilling one time and could not get the tank refilled in town as it is over 12 years old. There are most likely better options in the area.

Great place to stay for a weekend get away.

Loved staying in the cabin. We could see and hear the river from the house. The cabin had pretty much everything we needed for cooking. The driveway was a little challenging to maneuver for our F-150, but we made it to the top without any issues. The light switches are all labeled, which was a huge help. The hot water does take a few minutes to get to the cabin, but we did not have any issues with cold showers. We really enjoyed our time here and will be back in the future.

Great Stay!

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at River Walk. It had plenty of room for our family and the grandparents. The house was nice and spacious and it was just as described. We would definitely consider staying there again next time.

A great choice!

Our stay was awesome. The location is absolutely perfect. It’s right between West Jefferson and Boone. Being right on the river made for great relaxation and fishing. Watching the birds and other wildlife was wonderful. We visited the small park down the road to swim one day and we wish we could have done it more. Previous reviewsindicated a water shortage issue. The house has well water. You don’t get municipal water in this rural of a location. For anyone who is unfamiliar with well water - please understand that they can only produce so many gallons a minute. Period. Nothing anyone at the rental office can do to chance that. Some wells have an abundance of flow, others don’t. I was traveling with my mother and my 3 kids. We had no issues with water supply. Use some sense, stagger baths and showers, plan to run the dishwasher and washing machines at night or when you’re gone and all will be good. Don’t let 3 people take showers all at once and expect there to be plenty of water. The driveway is a bit tricky with two switchbacks to get to the top. Not insurmountable by any means, but I would recommend leaving the oversized, jacked up trucks at home. The home has wonderful furnishings. They’re all in great shape and nice and sturdy. I would suggest the home owners upgrade the towels, mattresses, pillows, and the coffee pot. I think a hammock used to be on the back deck and adding that back would be a GREAT addition. The fire pit space was awesome too. Our on true complaint was an issue with hot water. We departed on a Friday, and we lost all hot water I suspect late Wednesday night. Our loss of hot water came at the same time as a new beeping noise from the locked garage area every time the water ran. We called the office Thursday morning to notify them of the issue and let them know we wouldn’t be there all day. We were told someone would come out and check it and give us an update. We returned to the house that evening to find no hot water, no note, and I hadn’t received any updates calls while we are out. No one was able to take a hot shower Thursday night or Friday morning. We heated water on the stove to wash dishes. If I was camping, I wouldn’t be complaining, but we weren’t camping…. We understand things happen. Things break, breakers get tripped, etc. I just wish more attention had been paid. At least a phone call to let i

Beautiful Place

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The river was visible from the porch and close access to the cabin . Boone was just 11 miles away. We enjoyed River Girl Fishing and tubing . The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and functional. The dryer did not work so we hung our laundry out on the porch. The plumbing was compromised so we solved that by alternating showers and we did not use the dish washer . Over all we had a wonderful stay!

Beautiful cabin

Cabin was beautiful, great location, check in process was smooth, upon arrival we found a lot of issues the dryer doesn’t work among other things( light bulbs, plumbing issues) cleaning was awful towels smell terrible and definitely needed cleaning over all, I Think it’s a beautiful cabin and can do better than that, Loved the location

Wonderful experience

We love the cabin everyone had their own space kitchen was well equipped pots pans etc. love the fact that we had a washer and dryer didn’t have to take any dirty clothes, home very spacious, fireplace was a big plus on the day we arrived it was about 9° so that came in as a big plus. The driveway was a bit tricky but wasn’t terrible. The kids love the fire pit. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants to get away with family and friends and have a great time.

Snowy Weekend in the Mountains

Overall, the cabin was excellent. We had a few issues upon arrival, but the staff quickly addressed them. Many of our challenges were based on the weather. We went the last weekend of January, and they were expecting snow. The driveway was challenging, but we had been warned before arriving. The cabin itself was in good condition. Some of the furniture was wobbly, but we steered clear of those few pieces. The cabin was well equipped with what we needed. There were nine of us in the cabin ranging from 16-70. There was more than enough room to stretch out and relax together. There was a great family room to watch television by the fire while a group of us played board games on the dining room table. Overall, this was an amazing trip and we hope to visit this cabin again as a family!

Cute cabin, needs some upgrades

The cabin itself was cute. It was definitely a trip any time you wanted to go anywhere, further out then we would of liked. We had 2 family’s (8people total) so the number or bedrooms and bathrooms were nice. The mattresses were horrible (2 adults actually ended up sleeping on the reclining couch). There’s barely any water pressure in the whole house. 3rd floor shower wouldn’t even turn on because not enough pressure, all 8 people ended up using the main bathroom because the other 2 were pointless. The light under the microwave was out so hard to see when cooking. The fireplace only turned on high so after 10 min had to turn it off. Also there’s a whole big enough for a foot to go through on the porch. The driveway is very steep you have to make sure you have a head start. Could use another TV or 2 in bedrooms, only has one in living room and master. With some upgrades and maintenance this place could be really nice.
