As other reviews have said the property is old and creaky and furnishings and carpets could do with being updated. The hotel is right next to the castle, pubs, restaurants and-supermarkets and is a great location. It’s a shame really as it could be really nice if a bit of TLC was added to the rooms and especially the entrance which really needs attention. Another Plus is the staff are really nice.

Parking was perfect and staff very helpful. Rooms were very tired and lacked any finishing. Bed very comfortable and sleep was spot on. Loved the central location, a bit of investment would fill the place all week through the summer.

position great for Tonbridge. Room clean and comfortable. Shower over bath mucky with mildew around bath taps etc. Needed sprucing up. No fans available and was very hot. Hotel old and tired. Could be thriving if money was spent on it. Cheap price. Cooked breakfast good

Each and every staff member were amazing!! Very helpful did what they could to solve every situation and went the extra mile given issues with rooms. Hotel needs some repairs and refurbishment in quite some areas like electrical, decor and cleanliness throughout. Great location and opposite the castle. Overall good stay for 1 or 2 nights. Only breakfast option. Bar had no mixers, no coke or lemonade. Well done to the reception staff for their excellent service!

Do not stay here.!!! Rooms not been cleaned for a long while 1st room covered in dust and bathroom stinking of sewers. 2nd room covered in dust, Dried blood on bed cover and pillow cases, tiles falling off walls in bathroom. Breakfast was dreadfull did not eat beans cold, mushroom srivelled up like rubber bullets. Apparently no manager on site to deal with this still awaiting his call to arange for a full refund. Will be contacting trading standards this place shold not be open to public as is a health hazzard.

The whole place needs a refurb. My bedroom could have done with a clean and the toilet actually needed flushing before I could use it. The stairs and corridors wer dusty in corners and one corridor had a peculiar smell. I know it was an old building but I’m sure even old buildings could have lifts installed and maybe ramps and here one or two steps are. Not good value for money and the breakfast certainly wasn’t. The restaurant and bar are were clean and smart and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Excellent! Ample free parking, friendly staff, nice breakfast with options. Stayed in the four poster room which was brilliant! Right in the middle of town, walking distance from castle (a minute or two) and train station (10 minutes). Would stay there again!

Where do I start… It’s nóthing like the pictures as advertised. The whole place is rundown. Threading carpets, wallpaper missing/torn off, rickety doorhandles…Booked for two persons 3 nights. In the room: leaky broken showertap in a slippery bath. 1 mug for “complimentary” coffees & tea (read cheapest brand instant possible). The beds… because I had to remake the bed, I saw the matrass.. I don’t wish that upon my worst enemy. Incredibly gross. And a bad matress to sleep on as well. Breakfast is advertised with french rolls, pastries, cheese etc. What was offered: cheap jam, cheap yoghurt, a flimsy halfheated conveyor toaster and coffee. Fresh juice.. not so fresh as it was the cheapest juice from a carton. The coffee was good though. You can order cooked breakfast. The breakfast staff was embarrassed when I asked for said advertised cheese etc. The whole place looks like management has done their utmost to enrich themselfs at the expense of their guests, which is a shame, because the building itself has such a rich history and potential.
