“This very reasonably-priced resort is the way to go if visiting this area. We had a wonderful unit, perched up the hill and loved our daily treks into town below (you can also drive, but we chose not to). An added bonus was the fitness track with various exercise stations around the property and we made sure to take advantage of the pools, the hot-tub, and the saunas. Everything is well-maintained (although the ping pong table is in need of replacing 😉). The continental breakfast is a cut above……

“We stayed for one night in room 129 on the first floor of the new extension at the rear of the hotel. The room was just what we wanted - modern with a large bed and a good size bathroom. We had a lovely meal in the busy restaurant. In the morning the hotel (along with the whole of Blenheim) had a power cut. This did not affect us too much as we were flying to Auckland the following day. Would definitely recommend the Chateau as it is conveniently placed and had ample parking. ”

“A upmarket lodge that was recently refurbished. Our room number 10 was large and tastefully furnished with a large modern bathroom and good amenities. The breakfast and dinner served at the restaurant was high quality. All the staff we encountered were polite and friendly.”

“Although the reception is not opened for 24 hours, the duty staffs were helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is a little bit far from the ferry terminal, it is still OK because Picton is safe even we needed to walk in the darkness between the terminal and the hotel. In addition, two supermarkets are not far away. I will choose this hotel again if I come back especially the room rate is reasonable. ”

“We loved our stay. Lovely grounds and close to many wineries. We rented bikes from Mandy and, on the bike path and small roads near the Homestay, visited four local vineyards for tasting and lunch. Just a caution, these generally need to be prebooked. A wonderful stay overall”
