"If your goal is to immerse yourself in beachside relaxation, this might be the best spot on Panama’s Pacific coast! It is a rare find in Torio, a spot that’s becoming the next hot destination for Americans and other travelers. For one thing, this home is 30 steps from the beach. For another, the beach here is safe, calm, and sandy. Pretty much all the surrounding resorts require a long, hot hike down to the beach (and then back up). We spent every day of our 3-week stay swimming, boogie boarding, or snorkeling (best done on calm water mornings). The property also has a pool and a platform with two hammocks up in the canopy. The jungle is another thing that sets this place apart. The owners haven’t manicured the jungle. We saw monkeys, coatis, agoutis, iguanas, and loads of birds. In fact, one couple staying here never went to the beach at all. They bird watched for three days. Another couple chartered a fishing excursion and came back with enough fresh yellowfin to feed everyone several times over. In town, there are several wonderful restaurants. We also booked 90 minute massages our last day. Everything is very reasonably priced. You’d spend twice as much on food and lodging in the U.S. If you’re someone who loves nightlife and shopping, get that out of your system in Panama City; then rent an SUV (a must) and come here to completely unwind and enjoy paradise! (P.S. Best hosts ever, and they speak English, Spanish, and French.)"

"You really can’t underestimate how beautiful the location is. However, the food was almost inedible and the Internet nonexistent. Had to go out looking for food and there’s not many restaurants around The facilities look like they have not really cared for them much but the location is amazing right on the beach The staff did a great job but were limited in their expertise and therefore we couldn’t eat there. Food was pretty bad. The breakfast however, was OK and had a variety of eggs or granola and fruit, which is great but the evening meals main meals were awful. Being cut off from Internet probably wasn’t a bad thing for me, but it still was an inconvenience when trying to deal with payments or translation apps"

"Amazing place for a little escape. The bed is extremely comfortable and all you can hear is the sound of nature. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure all your need are met. The food is delicious. The only problem is that you will not want to leave. Fully recommend doing the free activities like paddle board, yoga and mud bath. "

"The view from the balcony was spectacular. Very good location and easy to find. Patricia and Bob were spectacular hosts and made us feel like old friends.We were offered use of the pool, but didn't use it, but it was large, clean and again, an amazing view.The casita was exactly as described, very cozy, clean and a comfortable.I recommend making the short drive and 15 minute hike to the waterfall!"

"I cannot recommend this property highly enough! It's a secluded retreat nestled in the jungle, just steps away from what felt like our own private beach. We stayed in the air-conditioned couple's suite, featuring a cozy queen bed, a modern and fully stocked kitchen, and a bathroom with a spacious vanity and shower. The suite also has a small patio near the front door, equipped with two loungers and a brand-new gas BBQ—perfect for grilling evening meals. (Tip: Make sure to stock up on groceries in San Antonio or Mariato, as Torio does not have a market.) For a small fee, we enjoyed breakfast each morning with our wonderful hosts, Lyne and Michael Heim. These meals often turned into lively conversations that felt like solving the world's problems—we genuinely consider them great friends now. Although we only stayed for three days, we wished we had known how exceptional their place is, as we would have loved a longer stay. Make sure to message the hosts prior to arrival, as I forgot, and their location can be tricky to find."
