Nice and thanks!
I am very grateful for whatever reasons the staff gave me a private room (with shared bathroom) instead. I was sick and needed to work till late mid-night during my stay (till 4am!) - so glad that I could rest well and finished my work without having to disturb others. Thank you SO MUCH for that!
The staff are very nice and friendly! Could be better if they can offer a hand to at least open the door when visitors need to enter the building with big luggage, if not giving a helping hand to move it up or down.
There are few things people should pay attention to though:
1. While hostel is designed for backpackers, who would think to put the luggage storage area to basement? When you check out, first you take your luggage downstairs, take another extra little stairs after getting out of the building to reach the reception, then the reception tells you sorry, the luggage storage area is downstairs. Please take your luggage up that little stairs, open the door, and take it one floor down (stairs again)! 😂 if you have big luggage, you may consider other places to stay 😂
2. Kingston is definitely a “lively” neighbourhood - with cannabis users enjoying their time right outside the hostel. As a solo female traveller, that freaks me out a little but i dont have much problem with it. Just thought maybe good for others to know.
3. The bath area is separate by a bath curtain inside the female bathroom. People can see you from the mirror.
Other than these, I am v happy with my stay!
