This cozy country house is located in the village of Torrelles de Foix, in the valley of Foix, in Catalonia. The house was built in 1879 by the great-grandfather of Pere Tropes, who restored the house while preserving all of its original character. Torrelles de Foix is a village of 800 inhabitants situated on Pontons Creek and the Foix River, which provide water for the village. One could say that the people here live with their feet soaking. To prove it, you can just visit the old laundry and remains of an advanced irrigation system which was built during the Middle Ages and turned the town into one of the most important agricultural centers of the region. Guests can enjoy the swimming pool located in the countryside just 1 km from the house.
This accommodation has an area of 114 m2 and is ideal for 6-7 persons. The house has a kitchen / dining room with fireplace, reading room, games, and a television. The kitchen is fully equipped including, among other things, a toaster, 4-burner gas stove, refrigerator, coffee maker (Dolce Gusto and Italian coffee maker), microwave and electric oven. There are three bedrooms: one with a double bed and a bunk bed, the second one with 3 single beds, and the third one with a double bed and a single bed. All rooms have a private bathroom. Furthermore, there is a patio with a barbecue and garden furniture. In addition, the house has central heating, a washing machine (additional fee), music system and internet connection. A crib is available free of charge.
The location is unbeatable because of the close proximity to the tourist attractions of Catalonia: 10 minutes from Vilafranca del Penedès; 50 minutes from Barcelona and Tarragona (Port Aventura); only 20 minutes from Sant Sadurni d'Anoia and the beaches of Vilanova and Sitges; and 45 minutes from the monastery of Montserrat. You can enjoy the swimming pool situated among nature and just 1 km away. The house provides lots of tranquility and opportunity for relaxation. You can also enjoy wellness services balanced with chiropractic treatments. You can also take a number of excursions, go hiking / cycling or enjoy a bit of wine tasting. The house has two bicycles at your disposal (at no additional cost). Of course do not miss Dous, a spring with neither more nor less than 35 emanations of water!
