  • We are in the Stonegate Community which is located behind the Townsend Visitor Center so basically in the heart of our quaint small town of Townsend! We are 5 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Little River, Townsend Visitor Center, Heritage Center, and the walking /bicycle trails that run throughout the town. We have a fabulous new outdoor firepit area perfect for S’mores or campfire stories !

    Step into a peaceful wooded setting to experience A~Bear's Den. We are snuggled in a nice private lot with yard and parking space. We offer a covered parking area and have a turnaround space - all paved! You can experience our fabulous mountains with nice, paved roads!

    Once you step onto our wrap around deck, you will immediately notice our gates that keep your babies and fur baby safe and secure. Our oversized hot tub provides the much-needed relaxation from your journey to the East TN Mountains or to soak away those sore muscles from hiking in the park. Whatever the need - I promise you will enjoy it! Our covered deck offers several places to sit back and relax or catch up with family/friends. The uncovered part of the deck offers a gas grill and open space to allow the babies to play or the fur baby to lay in the sun.

    Once inside the cabin, you will enter our open concept living/kitchen/dining floor plan that offers enough space to have meals, watch movies, play games, cook meals, whatever your heart's desire! If you need some adult time, send the kids upstairs to the loft to play foosball!

    Our master bedroom is on the main floor with a super comfortable king size bed, smart Tv and access to the deck. Our recently renovated master bath has a walk-in shower.

    The upstairs loft offers a day bed with trundle, foosball table, bar top table and chairs and a full-size washer and dryer. We have board games and cards available for your use during your stay at the cabin.

    The upstairs private bedroom is spacious room with a King size bed and Smart TV. The recently renovated private bathroom has a tub/shower combo.

Well appointed, lovely & spacious cabin. We had 5 adults, 1 baby, & 1 small dog and we were very comfortable. Porches & porch swings were lovely for relaxing. We will be back!

Very nice cabin in Townsend. Close to Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg.A Bears Den suited our needs perfectly, allowing us to bring along our pet while we explored the area. The large deck with gates at both ends was a nice feature to keep the dog from wandering off on her own. Great place, great location, friendly owners and neighbors! We will definitely stay again in the future.

The layout was perfect for a quit getaway for 2 couples. We loved the hot tub, convenient and private. Property manager was great. We all loved the porch swings and the weather couldn't have been better

Relaxing Getaway

The cabin was perfect!! Love the wrap around porch and quiet atmosphere. The beds were very comfy and lives have so many extra pillows.

Peaceful stay, so quiet

The cabin is beautiful! Everything you need is already available! fantastic hot tub, especially at end of day hiking. We truly enjoyed our stay! We will definitely book again.

Peace on the mountain!

The cabin is a peaceful and quiet place to stay. We didn’t use the hot tub but it looked very inviting. Sitting on the wrap around porch was extremely relaxing. I recommend this cabin to anyone and will come back for another stay.

Perfect place for a quiet week away on the peaceful side of the mountains. The local people we met were very kind ,helpful, and welcoming to the area. The cabin was just as described. Pillows on the master bed on first floor were very hard but I did have my own pillow.

This was a perfect location for our short stay over Memorial Day! Plenty of room for a family of 5-8 people. Pet friendly! Very quiet! Cabin is clean and equipped with all necessities for cooking! Short distance to Pigeon Forge or any attractions in the area! Loved our stay and we will definitely book again!

Our trip was fabulous and the cabin was terrific! Jo does a great job of keeping it very clean and communication was spot on. My favorite part was the wrap around porch. Kinda like a tree house. We will do it again!

Stay at Bears Den

Cabin was beautiful. Very accurate description. Cleanliness was top notch. Kitchen was well equipped. Was pet friendly. Large porch with swings and gates that latched so Willow could be outside but confined. Would highly recommend.

Absolute gem!

We loved the paved road and driveway up to the cabin! It was super clean and our pup loved the porch. We were on a 19 night road trip and my dog kept finding all kinds of odd things left in carpets and on floors at hotels and other vrbos - but NOT at this property. It was CLEAN. On the porch, you feel you are sitting in the trees. It was wonderful! It was away from the craziness of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but those were just a drive away. We went to Cades Cove and saw so much wildlife - go first thing in the morning if you can. The neighbors next to the cabin were wonderful and welcoming.
