It is in a nice quiet location that is in easy walking distance to town. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Lovely view of Magnetic Island from the dining room balcony.

This place is very well priced, and in a great location. It’s relatively close to the strand and all of the eateries/beach, and it’s also not far to the castle hill access road. The owners are incredibly helpful and friendly, and have made our stay so easy. And the view is spectacular!

A great place to stay if you need to be in walking distance of Townsville CBD, but far enough to be very quiet at night. Also dark at night with the windows facing away from the lights of the car park. A good setup. And fantastic views as the name suggests.

The motel was in a quiet location and some units had lovely views to Magnetic Island. It was a steep 15 min walk from the city where most of the eateries were located. Island View was good value, but a little dated. If you had a car to travel from the property, it would have been much better. There was a small bar on a balcony (with fabulous views) close to reception which was open from 5 - 6pm.

Pillows very hard and uncomfortable, check in was ‘cross wired’ and while I understand cockroaches are common in the tropics, 6 dead cockroaches on the floor in the room was disconcerting.

House keepers threw a note on the bed saying they couldn’t make up our room as we had personal items on the bed. My own pillow and our night shirts. I think this was a cop out and an easy way of getting out of their job, just my opinion. We only stayed two nights, no service to room for the stay was probably a better way to go than enter and leave a note. The note was all typed and obviously a regular thing so advise at check in the bed needs to be cleared of all personal items or don’t enter at all

I had contacted staff 3 times to let them know that I would require the late check in details. The last time being 3pm on day of arrival. I was informed that I would receive an SMS detailing the late check in procedure for my room key. Suffice to say when I arrived at 7.20pm still no SMS rang the mobile number to be informed that they had not sent it and it was sent almost immediately informing me which lock box it was in and the combination. Pity the instructions on how to actually use the said lock box were not included. Luckily another guest could help me out so not very many thanks for the staff unfortunately. The room though dated was clean functional and in good repair.
