The hosts are the most hospitable, caring, thoughtful, and accommodating individuals and run a wonderful and comfortable bed-and-breakfast. The breakfast each morning is a culinary delight and surpasses any exceptional cuisine that you can find within the entire town of Bellaire and surrounding communities. What a wonderful place to relax, unwind, reflect, and enjoy! Also loved the coffee and tea bar and a few other goodies and beverages set aside for the guests each day. We cannot wait to visit again!

The home was cozy. We were upgraded to a room with private bath. The breakfast each morning was wonderful. Jamie made our stay great and we're coming back to stay to start the Christmas season in December.

Beautiful house and The best Hosts

My sister and I had a fantastic time! The place was so cute and cozy, and the hosts were absolutely the nicest. The decor was beautiful and charming, and the breakfast they served was delicious. We would very much love to come back and stay again the next time we’re in town!

Such a beautiful property full of charm, and the hospitality of the owner was excellent. Jamie is a wonderful cook, her homemade/handcrafted breakfast was out if this world, desserts were delicious. Jammie was very kind and caring. The house is absolutely stunning and very clean, nice quite and peaceful place. I would definitely go here again.

On site hens for fresh eggs every morning! Pergola seating, tea room, hidden garden with lots of bird houses and feeders, a wonderful wide porch for visiting with other guests in the evening. Wonderful food! Drawback: on a busy road but inside quiet.

Does anyone really know what it takes to find breakfast recipes, to shop for those recipes, to prepare those recipes for five plated breakfasts that are served up at the perfect temperature, decorated with the most delightful flowers or herbs on the cutest china with real SILVERware and consisting of the most interesting combination of unique textures and colors? And all of this has to be prepared and come out the door at 8:30 AM. That is incredibly astounding. And then consider that Jamie has a smile and a pleasant greeting and coffee ready all at the same time. Usually when I travel, I discover that the real deal isn’t exactly as beautiful or perfect as the pictures indicate, but you won’t be disappointed at Applesauce Inn Bed and Breakfast in Bellaire, Michigan. THIS should be the focal point of your trip, and Torch Lake sand bar, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Michigan SkyBridge, Grass River Natural Area, apple picking, cherries and the great local restaurants will be frosting on the cake.

Our stay at Applesauce Inn was absolutely wonderful. The inn is charming, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Just a lovely B&B run by a great couple. Great breakfasts using eggs from their own chickens! Rooms are great - large and nicely decorated. Outside, the setting is quite serene. Very relaxing. We look forward to our next stay.

Extra $ if you use a third party to book

My wife and I recently stayed at The Applesauce Inn B&B for two nights. The Pros - Our hostess, Jamie was very nice and knowledgeable of the area in regards to restaurants and things to do. She is an excellent cook and does a wonderful job with meal presentation. The Cons - Two of the three rooms face the highway. While it’s not super busy, the traffic noise cost us quite a bit of sleep. There are window air conditioners that allow the noise to come through. Bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. Their website indicates that they offer a glass of wine and dessert every afternoon for their guests. Their site even offers that this is a guest favorite. Upon arrival, Jamie said that they are not offering it due to the pandemic. Well if you’re hosting breakfast, what is the difference? At the very least, take the claim off your website and Hotels.com as this also played in to why we booked there. My biggest complaint is that they charged us over 15% more ($445 vs. $385 after tax) because we booked through Hotels.com versus directly through their site. It seems obvious to me that they pass on the third party cost to their guests. The problem with this is that we wouldn’t even know that The Applesauce Inn existed if not for Hotels.com. I’ve never seen this done before and it didn’t sit well with us. Between the extra charges and the canceled afternoon social, we feel that we were taken advantage of. Therefore, we would never consider staying there again
