Fabulous Lake Michigan rental

Spectacular rental right on Lake Michigan. Lots of comfortable space indoors and out. Large, private sandy beach with shallow water.

No screens but lots of sand

If you enjoy open windows so you can hear the waves (one of the key reasons we like homes on the water,) birds and crickets, as well as someone who enjoys cool Michigan nights for sleeping, this is not the place for you. There are no screens on any windows ( I was told the owner thinks they interfere with the view) so the indoors is controlled by the AC 24/7. The thermostat is on the first floor, so to keep the second floor at a comfortable temperature for my son, it was cold in the basement master suite. We did enjoy our time on their lovely deck. It felt like it might have been a new owner working with a new vacation rental company so I imagine they are still working out issues like cleaning. We came in late at night to find sandy floors ( we had taken off our shoes at the door like we do at home,) blood on some sheets, moldy towels ( as well as only 4 sets left out for 6 people) and many of the dishes were put away dirty. The person at the vacation rental company, who was managing our rental, was more annoyed at having to deal with issues and apologetic.

Beautiful beach

I Miss That Porch!!

We had a great stay on Good Harbor Bay. The house was an ideal size for our group (two families, three kiddos total). The kids enjoyed playing and sleeping in the loft, and the parents enjoyed relaxing on the covered porch. The house itself was very clean and the location on Good Harbor Bay is tough to beat. We would definitely rent this house again.
