Cozy House on High Lake near TC

Up to 2 guests may stay in this charming, tiny lakeside house. We provide coffee, tea, hot cocoa, oatmeal and snacks; creating a self serve Bed and Breakfast in your private home. The owners are just a few steps away in their own residence and can assist with any questions or needs you may have.
The private deck has a pretty lake view, with woods on one side. A large, reserved paved parking area is right in front of your house. Recent updates include: A/C and furnace, flooring, appliances, patio furniture, faucets, shower and couch.
The bedroom has a queen bed with all linens, extra pillows & blankets. There is a spacious armoire with 24+ inches of hanging space. We provide bath and hand towels, wash cloths and bath mat. The living/dining area has a large sofa with 2 recliners and a small table with 2 chairs. A complete kitchen and outside grill is available for all of your cooking needs.
Smoking is not allowed inside the house. If you wish to smoke outside the house, let us know so we can provide a container for your butts, ashes.
High Lake is a 50 acre lake, perfect for fishing and canoeing. We are only 1.5 miles from Spider Lake boat launch. We are usually able to accommodate guests who bring a small boat, just ask!
You have full access to the lake side deck and chairs. 2 kayaks and canoes can be used at any time. Property is shared with the owners (an adult couple) who live in their own house. The house has central air/heat.
Come enjoy the peaceful beauty of High Lake and still be within minutes of all Traverse City attractions such as Traverse City Beaches, the cute downtown and many wonderful restaurants!
Visit Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Leland's fish town, Northport, Elberta, Bellaire, Elk Rapids, Torch Lake, Charlevoix, Petoskey.
Enjoy hiking at Brown Bridge (2 minutes away), High Rollaways (Kingsley), Pyramid Point, Keystone, TC Commons. Or just walk down the street to either Killingsworth or Grace McDonald parks. Another option is to cycle down the Vasa or TART trail, or kayak down the Boardman River.
Enjoy exceptional restaurants, breweries, wineries and distilleries.

Relaxing Little Hideaway

This cabin is great for any couple looking to get away. It had all the essentials for our weekend trip to see Sleeping Bear Dunes. You’re still close enough to the downtown core of Traverse City that going to the beach, going out to eat (we recommend Mama Lu’s for some amazing street tacos), or going shopping is no burden. However, you’re also far enough back that at the cabin you can truly relax, enjoy nature, and appreciate the amazing lake view. Mike & Maureen are great hosts, and for our next trips out this way we will try and book this stay again!

Great little lake house!

We loved our stay at the house. My husband enjoyed kayaking on the lake in the evening, The house had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Proximity to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes was great too.

Adorable Clean Cottage

Cozy House was the perfect place to stay for our 6 day vacation. All of our sightseeing day trips were so easily accessible. Taking a canoe ride and just relaxing by the small, gorgeous lake was an added bonus. The owners are so nice and friendly! We enjoyed taking the nearby recommended hikes too!

A perfect getaway in a quiet tiny house.

Maureen, Mike & Cooper are great hosts. This spot is only a short drive outside the main drag in Traverse City and 40mins from the dunes. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful little getaway, this is what you want. And great towels, too!

Peaceful stay near Traverse City

Just spent a very relaxing weekend at this excellent home. Al though it is quite small, it was really first rate. We had everything we needed, plus easy access to Traverse City and the surrounding area. The owners were extremely easy to work with and very pleasant. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful and convenient getaway.

Perfect getaway

A great place to stay!

This place was great. It was super clean and had everything we needed for a nice stay. We enjoyed being able to walk down the yard to sit by the lake and take in the serenity of the surroundings. The hosts were very nice and helpful with whatever we needed. The drive to downtown Traverse City is very short, plus there is much to do within driving distance northeast and northwest of the place, whether you're cherry picking, hiking, swimming, going on wine tasting, etc.

Annual Traverse City Vacay

In a nutshell, our impression of our stay at High Lake was that our hosts "undersold" the accommodations. We were ecstatic upon arrival. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. And, the location actually seemed to make access into and out of Traverse City more efficient than if we had stayed "on the strip".

Great Experience!

The house was cute, clean and cozy! It’s a bit away from town which was perfect for us. Host communication was great and we had a wonderful trip. They even offer use of a kayak on the property which we were very excited for but unfortunately did not get to use due to the weather. I would recommend this place to anyone.
