Had a great time!
Everything was very simple..which i like..lol the house was clean..nice set up..and the view is everything! If i had any complaints, it would be the pots and pans are a little out dated..very much used alot..lol but overall stay was wonderful, and i would totally go back!

A great getaway lakefront cottage
Kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, silverware and cooking pots and pans; bedroom was clean and pretty roomy for a cottage of this size; door code much better than having a key; great view of Silver Lake, and conveniently located near all TC has to offer. Thanks, Lauran and Nick!

Clean Cozy Cottage
The cottage has a beautiful setting on the lake; it was clean and well stocked with books, games, towels, kitchen supplies, etc. A canoe and paddle board were available for use, at no charge. Pontoon boats are available to rent from the owner at a very reasonable rate. Lauren was just outstanding in responding to our questions and needs.

Awesome place to stay! Lauren was amazing! Rented the pontoon for the day, weather wasn't the greatest that day, dreary and chilly. Rainy the next day. She was nice enough to let us keep it throughout our stay. The third day was sunny and beautiful!! Perfect 💜

My family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. It was small but had everything that we needed. It was very clean and minimal stairs to the lake. The view looking out the kitchen window was amazing.

Amazing Location!
Silver Lake cottage is a fantastic place to stay on your visit to Traverse City. Great location to downtown, amazing lake to be on and plenty of room for our family of 4! We've rented a lot of VRBO's and this one was super accurate to description and one of the best experiences with communication!

Cute cottage
We enjoyed our stay at this cottage! It’s very open spaced , with good beach access ( flat ) . The lake area is nice and calm - great for paddling. Nice fire pit area , and a sun shaded deck for dining and sunset watching . Location is great - It’s a short drive into town . This cottage has everything you would need! (the ceiling to the upstairs is a bit low) Lauran is a great host and very attentive to questions. We would stay here again !

Nice place, great location
We stayed at this property for a few days in the fall. Great to be right on the water and close to Traverse City. The updated portions of the house were great, but the kitchen and pots/pans really need some improvements. Overall a nice cozy place to stay.

Awesome lake cabin
We just loved this cabin! It’s much more spacious on the inside than you imagine. It had every cooking utensil you could need. The water view was great. Definitely rent the pontoon. Tubing is so much fun! The only bummer for those of you with small kids is that the lake is very mucky at this property, so your kids won’t be interested in swimming at the beach.

Great family vacation home
The house was the perfect size for our 4 person family. The house was super clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved the peddle boat, sand toys, and the firepit the most. The kids loved the upstairs loft. The water was shallow enough for our 5 year old to stand up at the end of the dock. Our only complaint was that the lake bottom was muddy and we sank into it more than expected. The home is in a great location- close to shopping and a short drive to Traverse. Definitely recommend for families!

October visit to Silver Lake cabin
Location is great with a wonderful view of the Lake. Surprised to find that the dock had been removed and all watercraft stacked. Not a big problem, but would like to have been given a "heads up". Overall, this was a nice place to stay.

Up North Getaway
Spent the holiday weekend at this quaint cottage. It was exactly as described. We rented one of the pontoon boats and enjoyed cruising the lake. Cottage was close to town with lots of restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed our stay.

Great family getaway
We are locals so this was a summer staycation for our family. It was great! Great location. Great views -especially the sunsets and sunrise. Quiet area. Lake was never too busy. We will book again for next year.

Beautiful lake
Nice cottage on a beautiful lake. Bedroom is small. Loft is ok for kids. Adults can fit up there but need to hunch down near the top of the stairs due to ceiling height. But then you can stand up straight once in the loft. The view from the back yard is great. Very large yard, lots of nice chairs and picnic table. Deck is really nice too. We had a bonfire most nights. I would recommend staying here.

Perfect spot for our family
Very clean, had everything we needed. We stayed four days with two young kids. The kids loved the loft bedroom. The lake was very warm in June and we swam, tried to catch minnows, played with sand toys and floaties, and used the stand up paddle board. We made a fire every night and saw otters on the lake. It was very quick and easy to take trips to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. There are many stores and restaurants and hiking trails close to the property. Overall great— so nice to be right on a beautiful clean lake and to be able to explore the area.

Great stay !
The lake is gin clear and just beautiful ! This place has all the necessities and then some. We rented the pontoon, which was wonderful for a relaxing ride and even had dinner on the boat. The place was clean, owner was responsive and helpful. We look forward to staying again next year.

Wonderful Stay! Will Come Again!
My family had the most amazing week! Lauran, the owner, was extremely kind and helpful throughout the entire process. She answered any questions we had and made sure we were set for the week. The quaint cottage was the perfect size for the four of us and had all the amenities we needed for the week. I'm still amazed at how big the cottage was on the inside! It's really cute! The location of the home on the lake was perfect for seeing some beautiful sunsets! The lake was just the right size for my kids to jet ski and boat without worry about a lot of boat traffic! The water was the perfect temperature. We had a great trip and made some wonderful memories! We would love to come back!

Silver Lake Stay
Our family of five enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was well supplied with outdoor toys and floats which our kids had with. We especially enjoyed the paddle board and paddle boat. Plenty of beach towels were provided. It was a peaceful and private getaway.

Loved it!
The place was great! We came up for a long weekend with two young kids and this place had it all. Beautiful lake, beautiful beach, lots of fun water toys...the perfect getaway without having to worry about staying downtown. I would stay here again!

Nice place, great location
Family of 5 (kids 12,10,8) enjoyed our stay at Silver Lake. Cottage was as expected. Beds in the loft are for kids as ceiling clearance is a bit low for anyone taller than 5’8”. Lake was quiet and my kids enjoyed tubing and being out on the boat that we brought. As for excursions, TC is literally 15 min away. Bear dunes 40min, Torch Lake 30 min, Mackinaw Island 90 min. We had no issues whatsoever and would come back without hesitation.

Relaxing & Beautiful getaway!
We spent a week here for our family vacation. Our two kids loved the property and all the amenities. Lauran is a wonderful host and very responsive. We loved the paddle board, paddle boat and canoe. Each morning and evening we enjoyed the lake front and beach area. Close to TC, outdoor activities, the dunes, everything while still feeling relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle. We will definitely be back! Perfect getaway for a relaxing summer vacation.

Lovely property. It suited our needs very well! Tidy and nicely appointed. I would suggest this is really best suited for a small family with kids under 15. The access to the loft has a very low ceiling. I think the shower head needs to be cleaned. The flow is down to a trickle. The main bedroom has a very soft and saggy bed. We enjoyed seeing Eagles and Osprey, just a delightful location

Thanks for sharing. We bought a new bed after reading this. We want to make sure all guests have the best experience. So there is a new bed and the shower is now fixed as well. Sorry it was not great for your stay.

Cute cottage on peaceful lake!
My family enjoyed our week away at Silver Lake. The house had everything we needed and was in great shape. I really enjoyed sipping coffee on the dock in the morning and my daughter loved the paddle board. Even though we were close to town, we could have spent the whole week on the lake.

Classic up-north Michigan vacation
Lauran is a very attentive host, who works hard to make sure her guests are comfortable. She even gave us a referral for a good babysitter so we could have a dinner out together. The property is in a fantastic location, on beautiful Silver Lake, close to Traverse City. The lake itself is shallow and has a gradual entry (doesn’t drop off in front of the house). We enjoyed watching the sunset every night with a glass of wine. We spent a lot of time outside (in the lake itself) and also made a few fires and grilled out often. The outdoor space is really nice. The house itself is functional with a good size kitchen. It works well for a family. Other highlights for us included the huge laundry room (nice fluffy towels) and stocked outdoor floaties selection. It was our first family vacation with our 8 month old twins - one we will not forget! Thanks, Lauran!

Grandmas Cottage (no really!)
My wife booked the Silver Lake Cottage. I took a look at the listing a few days later and much to my surprise it was my Grandparents Home! Having lived in Alaska since 1980 it was a great treat to be back home! the cottage was clean and fit our purposes well. My 90 year old mother could not believe it when we pulled up in front with her. She knew immediately it was her parents house. We had good weather so rented the pontoon boat and took her for a ride around the lake. We hope to visit again soon when we visit Mom next. Thanks!

Great Little Place on Silver Lake
This is the perfect house for a small family. Nice open kitchen into the living room, perfect access to the lake. Just the right amount of beachfront for small kids. Close drive to Traverse City. We will definitely try to come back in the summer months!

Perfect Size in a Perfect Place
The cottage was in a very convenient location, close to town, grocery stores, and other amenities. Sunsets over the lake each night were beautiful. Shed was full of supplies and toys that could be used on the water. The owners were very timely in communication and made this an enjoyable stay.
