Great Dog Friendly Spot

Friendly, helpful staff, clean well stocked kitchen, comfortable and fun place. Our small dog absolutely loved it there and even fell in love with a French bulldog! Good proximity to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. Highly recommend!

We loved being in a quiet area but easy access to ANP and all of Mount Desert Island. We were very comfortable at Open Hearth inn!

Good first time seeing Acadia

Nice historic property. Easy access to Acadia and about 20 min drive to Bar Harbor. We especially enjoyed access to the hot tub after a long day of hiking.

Great and cozy house! Needed a place to stay for a night along the way and it was perfect. I will say there is no food nearby after 7:30pm so plan ahead but other than that it’s a nice stop and next to a great bakery for breakfast!

Wells Vacation

The Inn was very nice and quite comfortable. It was nice to have access to the kitchen and we enjoyed the hot tub. The bakery across the street was good. It was conveniently located to several places we were interested in visiting. Our only regret was not getting the opportunity to meet our hosts.

It’s a smallish room, but that’s what we were looking for. This has it all! The room has a smallish bathroom off the corner. Toilet, sink, mirror - it’s all you need. Everything worked as it should. Has air conditioning, but we didn’t use it. Has heat, but we didn’t use it. Has 3 nice windows and blinds. Has a good sized flat TV, but again, we didn’t use it. Coffee maker, coffee and accoutrements, microwave and dresser that has a pull-out workspace. The room even has an old claw foot tub with a shower. Guess what? Yep, we didn’t use any of them, but all fits so quaintly and gives such a peaceful feeling. The community kitchen and fridge are spacious and well stocked, there was even instant oatmeal that I had for breakfast. We drove to Bar Harbor and also went to Acadia National Park. Both are about a 15 minute drive. All in all, we LOVED this place.

Great place to stay!

We stayed in the 200 year old inn room. It was clean and comfortable/-very easy checkin. I loved the common spaces and you can do laundry. Everyone was chill. If you are a larger person I wouldn’t recommend staying in this room, as the water closet is very! Small. There is only a tub/shower on the room, and the tub is a little slippery. We recommended the staff to re-do the anti-slip treads. I am sure they will, very responsive. Hot tub is inside and very nice. There are also little cabins on property. We both would stay here again.
