Fall family trip to Acadia.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Oak Cottage. Stunning property with over the top views. We loved the serenity of the property while being conveniently located close to the National Park and downtown Bar Harbor. Great for family get togethers.

Beautiful Home, Ocean View and Ideal Location

This beautiful property was perfect for our two families with teens. The ocean view was amazing, game room kept the teens entertained all week, and the relatively short drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia were ideal for a busy week. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Beautiful Property

My family and I stayed at this property for a week in July to use as a base for exploring Acadia National Park. The host, Rebecca, is welcoming and professional, and the property is excellent. Location is wonderful, right on the bay, and a very short drove over to Mount Desert Island (Acadia). House was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with everything a family (or two small families) would need for a trip. We'd definitely return in the future.

Beautiful home in a beautiful location!

We loved our stay at the Oak Cottage! The home has everything needed for a perfect stay: comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen,and beautiful bathrooms with wonderful showers. But the most special thing about this home is it's location. There is a large yard with a tree & water view, providing a very private and natural setting. Wander down to the shore and you will see fish, crabs and birds. In the evening we saw several wild turkeys and a family of deer. Peaceful - quiet - relaxing. Awesome.

Acadia Adventure

Oak Cottage was well suited to our family of nine. This spacious home was beautifully decorated, well cleaned, stocked and thoughtfully equipped. Our teenage grandchildren (with our children) enjoyed the ping pong table, air hockey, bags game, bocce ball and fire pit with roasting sticks. The ocean view was stunning day and night while low tide allowed for exploration of jellyfish, snails, crabbing and clams. The location of the property is excellent with easy drives to Acadia NP, Schoodic Peninsula, restaurants and shopping in Bar Harbor, Trenton and Ellsworth. It was close to all things our family wished to visit and do during our trip to Maine. Rebecca was a wonderful host who communicated with us swiftly when questions arose, which we deeply appreciated. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Family Fun

We had a group of nine (7 adults and 2 kids) and we had plenty of space. The house was extremely clean. We didn’t use the kitchen much besides coffee in the morning, but it seemed well stocked if you need to cook. The view from the house is unbeatable. Couple of suggestions: the fire pit could use a few more chairs. The house is so large to only have four. We had enough bath towels for each bed, but more hand towels would be nice. And the marshmallows are a nice touch, but you still have to go to the store for the other smore ingredients. The kitchen could use more coffee mugs. Bar Harbor is an easy 20 min drive, and they have all the restaurants you could need. The Gorham Mountain trail along the ocean path trail was a challenging combo but not as unconquerable as the beehive. Our kids were able to do it! Thankfully it was sunny so we had a nice view. We made the drive over to Schoodic Peninsula and that was worth it to walk the sundew trail. It was pretty even with the fog. The Jordan Pond trail was good for one of our rainy days. Restaurants we enjoyed: Great Maine Breakfast, Jordan’s, The Lobster Pound. Thanks for a great stay! We made lots of memories.
