Special Little Gem

We had a wonderful stay at the Sandpiper. The views are spectacular, the house was clean and comfortable and relaxing. We were able to have our small dog with us and it was very convenient and easy for us to manage her there.

Getaway With Our Pup

We had a wonderful weekend stay to escape the heat, and our Golden absolutely loved it! We appreciated that the house is pet friendly and so close to the beach. Great location, amazing views, couldn’t ask for a better trip.

Trinidad with a view

Comfortable two night stay. Never saw a street sign, but google was helpful and knowing in advance what it looked like. Good food nearby, although waits are pretty long because there are only a handful.

Birthday trip

This home exceeded all my expectations. It was well furnished, comfortable, and the location was incredible. We could hear and see the ocean from the back deck and it was a two minute walk to the dog friendly beach, moonstone beach. The property owners even left a notebook filled with cool places to see and visit on our trip.

A Splendid view

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our vacation house had a well-stocked kitchen, a comfortable bed, and a view of Moonstone beach and the Little River that was spectacular. The staff was very attentive and fixed the little problems that came up promptly. The lower balcony needed some attention.

Close enough to walk down to the beach for a stroll. Very close to Moonstone grill for a nice dinner, and a short drive into Trinidad for great food at The Eatery. A very cozy place that we hope to come back to.

A Perfect Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We recommend Sandpiper wholeheartedly! The house is absolutely perfect for the two of us and our beagle. The decks were gated so she had a great time exploring from top to bottom. The house itself is clean and well equipped, with a comfy couch and a large TV for evening relaxing. The bed is VERY comfortable. A short 5 minute walk to Moonstone Beach and a 10 minute drive up to Trinidad for delicious food at the Trinidad Bay Eatery. All in all a perfect getaway. We'll be back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sandpiper once we found the house. Views were impressive! Location is convenient to beaches and Redwoods. Property was clean and well maintained, with a good supply of kitchen essentials. I would not want to try to find the house in the dark! There are no street signs and the actual alignment of Rayipa Street is different from Google Maps. Would at least recommend change directions to something like "...sharp right turn and up the hill..."Otherwise, once we found the house we had a very smooth visit!

Amazing views! Clean, comfortable, well-equipped!

This house has just beautiful ocean views, and lots of sparkling windows so you can enjoy the view all the time! The reservation, check-in and stay were all very easy. The house is decorated in a sort of vintage style, we really enjoyed it. It’s a short walk to the beach and the Moonstone Cafe, which was very good. The kitchen is well-stocked and equipped and we ate in the second night. I stayed here with my sister while she visited for two nights, it was so nice! We sat on the upper deck and had coffee in the mornings, and also in the afternoon and evening. We didn’t really use the lower deck, although it is available for use. I would love to go back and stay longer. When we just talked about her visit last night with others, this stay was the first thing we both brought up, how great this house and view are! Highly recommend staying here, it’s location, comfort and view are excellent!

Reviewer Comments: Pros:- The view- Quiet location- Comfortable- Good water pressure- Kitchen well-stocked...more stuff than you probably need- New dishwasher & oven- Management company very responsive...thank you so much!!- Easy parking- Can hear the ocean with the windows open- Pet friendly...we may bring our doggo next time- Gas grill on deck...thanks for bringing a new tank!- Plenty of towels and extra blankets- Loved the swivel chairs in the living area- Only two guests allowed but plenty of room for when our son & GF came for dinnerCons:- No screen door- A bit of a musty smell...had to keep the windows open/cracked all the time- No counter space in bathroom...small baskets provided were nice to have- Furniture on lower deck in need of painting- Carpet in need of a deep clean- Wood stove not available for use...suspect d/t some sort of liability issue- As mentioned in previous reviews, tough to find in the dark...fortunately we came during the day. When they say sharp right turn, they mean it.

The property was clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The house is very, very old and needs to be updated : the house smelled damp, which is understandable, considering it has not been updated in 30 years or so, and the newer windows and doors available would reduce that significantly. It definitely feels like walking into a time capsule. Getting to the place at night is a bit tough, because the GPS picks up the house right below it on the hill, and since the street name signs are difficult to read at night it adds to the adventure I guess. The fire place had a sign saying: Do not use. The bedroom heater had a sign : out of order. The bathroom had one of those fancy toilets with the built in bidet, but the remote control that runs it was not available. The shower sliding doors came off their track every time the door was used. The fan in the bathroom was just noise, no air movement at all. There was no hot tub, even though the contract had a huge section dedicated to tub risk and care, so that was disappointing, but my mistake for not paying attention to fine print (tub, if available).

Almost Perfect

The Wife and I did not bring any Dogs along, so this review is from the perspective of a couple escaping to the Coast for a weekend. Closest town is Trinidad, a quaint little seaside village with an overpriced grocery store, Gas station, and two overpriced restaurants; Seafood, burgers, or Pizza. South 10 miles on the 101 has many better options. Enough about that. Check in was easy, I unlocked the key box, and pulled on the ripped screen door. It opened at the top, but bottom was stuck. Once inside, we were greeted by a lovely little kitchen loaded with an oven, microwave, big sink, and cupboards that wouldnt open. The views from the living room and Balcony were Gorgeous though. The living room has a big tv, a desk, games, couches, and a fireplace you cant use. The bathroom has a lovely Bidet that was unplugged and missing the remote. We had a nice weekend, got to see the Redwoods and the Ocean, and had a comfy bed to sleep in. I'm happy. Would I stay here again? Nope. Dear Owner: Deferred maintenance is a bummer. Spend a little money and make everything work as it should. This place has great potential.

beautiful views!

we enjoyed the rental...very comfortable and the 2 level decks with views were wonderful...same can be said for the views from the living room, bedroom and dining nook! Fabulous! The bathroom is very small, but doable. We would like to mention the directions to the home...we could not find a street name posted, and after going down 2 wrong streets, tried the one that appeared to be a private driveway...the one other thing we noticed was that although the listing included 2 parking spaces, there was only one as the other was taken by a covered vehicle (long term?). We would not hesitate to return!
