Nice place. good location for skiing Palisades and Northstar. Convenient to shopping in Truckee. If snow is in the forecast - 4WD!

Great little cabin with a beautiful view of the lake from both decks and the family room. The kids had a blast and had a lot of fun sleeping in built in bunk beds. Also an easy walk out the back down to the lake and docks

Very relaxing stay at this tranquil cabin. Loved chilling out in the family room after a long day on the slopes. Beds are comfortable, and lots of pots and pans for cooking breakfast and dinner before and after a day of skiing!

Accurate listing, perfect for our needs this trip.
Shout out to Customer Service/Guest Experience for helping us find this home when our first one fell through.
It was just two of us, so we only stayed on one floor of the house.
Had everything we could have needed and views were great.

The property was great, having a chair in the living room would be nice. Kitchen chairs all had arms, large people do not fit. No blind in mater bath, you can be seen from the road. However we had a great time, thank you

Loved the location and space. The deck was really nice with quality outdoor furniture. The walk down the stairs to the lake was short and nice. I liked the multi level house design, but would caution someone than can’t do many stairs.

Nice cabin with lake view. Very large with room for everyone. Downside: 3 flights of stairs to front door. Made taking things in and out a pain especially since we are seniors. Quiet with some street noise during the day. Except for stairs, I'd go back.

The property is lovely, a quick walk to Donner Lake. The house is an older Ski/Lake Home with authentically old furniture... wonderful details with a mostly wood interior and really pretty stained glass pieces. It has beautiful natural lighting. Slightly dated interior, but quite lovely. We stayed here as a multigenerational family. My parents, husband and 3 kids all felt really comfortable and happy here.

My family stayed at this house and loved it. The views are gorgeous and we enjoyed the layout. The furnishings are not high end (hard beds, thin quilts, awkward couch) but not bad for the price. The property management is underwhelming (oven was broken and never resolved). With a little love this property could be fantastic.

The house is a little older, if you’re seeking something new and updated this isn’t it HOWEVER, the house is much bigger than pictured and had everything that we needed for the trip. We went to spend time in Tahoe and Truckee so we weren’t home a lot so it didn’t matter that the house isn’t updated. It’s right on the water, and local staff was incredible. Lots of stairs, so - get ready to get some steps in. :) the home was perfect for us and Truckee is a hidden gem of the area. Perfect for a summer get away on the lake!

We brought two of our grandchildren - 14 year old boy and 9 year old girl. We all had a great time. We walked down the back to the docks and skipped rocks, laughed and had a blast. They fished off the dock and the 14 year old caught 2 fish! We threw them back as they were still growing. Great location - we went to the State beach and it was awesome! The house was very accommodating and cozy. It did not have "games" as stated, but we figured it out. Loved the kitchen - the range is killer! the biggest downfall (which we dealt with) was the stairs. You have to haul all you stuff down 4 small flights of stairs and back up!! Thank goodness for the 14 year old, LOL. It was a great trip.

Had a nice weekend stay, property needs some attention, carpets are heavily stained, only 2 burners work on the stove and to get to the lake the walking path is overgrown and the stairway down is damaged and dangerous requiring repairs. That being said it is a comfortable cabin that sleeps approx 8 people comfortably. There were only 2 of us at this time but would consider renting this cabin again if some of the repairs were made. Note: There are 39 stairs from the driveway down to the front door, if you have mobility issues this might not be the spot for you.

the house is ok, but the service/support was terrible. I was supposed be able to access garage for parking, for garbage disposal, and to access snow shovel and snow clearance equipment. During my stay we got about 10" of snow and my car could barely get in and out of the uphill driveway. was very dangerous. Luckily the lane outside was ploughed on the third morning or we would have missed a full day skiing. I reported this issue 7am on my first morning (thursday), and despite many many texts over the next 2 days they could not give me the correct garage code. On thursday morning Vacasa referred me to their "local team" and nothing happened. Despite multiple texts in next few days nothing happened. finally saturday evening I got a phone call offering assistance, at which point the snow had cleared and we were getting ready to leave the following morning. house was just ok (two small uncomfortable couches, carpetted bathrooms with no blinds), but one star is for non-existant support.

We arrived at the cabin and the oven was beeping with an error code. We called Vacassa immediately and didn’t hear back for 2 days. We had to listen to the horrible beep and didn’t have a stove or oven to cook at the meals we brought. We also didn’t get to enjoy the decks because they didn’t shovel the snow. With the amount of fees we pay to stay at this property I would expect to have better service and I am very disappointed

Overall I will say we had a pleasant stay.
Positives: It was a great location and the view was beautiful. The weather was great so we found the deck a pleasant place to spend time. Though the place is dated it had a new oven and a small gas grill which was a nice surprise.
Negatives: It took getting used to being comfortable showering in front of huge windows with no curtain. It is a great view but it just felt awkward facing out front especially for my two 20yr old girls. Also, there is only one proper shower. The master bathroom has a large jacuzzi tub with hand held shower that does not extend to standing height. Meaning you need to be sitting or in my case kneeling to use.
Lastly, though I am sure things were clean, there were a lot of stains on the carpet and towels and scuff marks on the walls .
Suggestions: they may want to consider getting a tension rods and curtains for the bathroom windows that guests could choose to put up or not. At least give the option.
Throw out the toaster, it looks like it caught on fire .
Conclusion: Once we got used the place it felt comfortable and I would stay again .

The oven has been broken for months according to the reviews. A staple of a large family cabin, this spoiled our cooking plans. Many of the outlets in the bathrooms are touchy or don't work at all. The entryway was dark, creepy and junky with a panel leading to the crawlspace open and who knows what under there. If you are coming, locate the address on a map then find the back of the house where the garage is and identify the roads that get you there, because you CANNOT park and unload from the main road--the stairs are broken and the terrain up to the house is a steep hill. They do NOT warn you about that. Many windows do not have screens so you can't open them--too many bugs. As many people have mentioned, this is a neat house with a nice view and a lot of potential, but they don't seem interested in doing any upgrades, so if you like staying in a kinda clean but shabby house from 1979 this is the place for you.

Everything is outdated and worn. The owner obviously does not want to put any money into this cabin. Their were cobwebs in the windowsills and drains with spiders crawling out. Along with carpenter ants (need a quarterly bug service). Mold on shower curtain, poorly lit rooms with lightbulbs out, crunchy carpet, inconsistent or not reliable wifi, only one standing shower that was rusted and if you chose to use the other bathtub downstairs at the same time, water pressure was terrible in shower. Pinecone needles on all patios and front porch as if nobody looked into the cleanliness since the last visitors (had to be over a month prior). The visible HVAC filter was being sucked in from too much dirt/dust accumulated. Vacasa took over two hours to respond back to me when my daughter accidently locked the keys inside the cabin while we were emptying the car... Shall I go on? Needless to say, very disappointed :-/

The cabin was spacious with a great view of Donner Lake and close by the lake. Had most of the things we needed. Could have used a welcome packet to let us know how to use the tv/cable. No directions and was hard to understand. Also would have been nice to provide wood for fireplace. No info of how to get into garage area to put trash or park car. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

The pictures are very deceiving. The house needs major updates. It was dirty and there were cobwebs and spiders. No sheets and no curtains in the bathrooms for privacy at all. We could not shower because of the lack of privacy, and we decided to leave a night early because we were so uncomfortable in the house.

There is a considerable amount of deferred maintenance inside and out and just generally speaking the house could use a serious makeover, including new beds and better lighting. That said, the views are lovely and we enjoyed the large fireplace. With a little TLC this place could be great, as it is, it's not bad.
