About this property

Spacious, airy yurt for glamping in comfort!

  • Families in particular love our spacious, well-lit yurts with domed ceilings. They’re made of thick vinyl and are insulated for 3-season use. Each has 2 bedrooms (double beds) and fold-down futons in the living area, as well as a kitchenette and a full bathroom with walk-in shower. Sleep 5.

    Outdoor seating areas surrounded by nature include picnic tables and fire/BBQ pits. Come enjoy these Mongolian architectural gems! 2 reserved parking spaces. (More available by request and availability.)

    Everyone staying at the property can enjoy our private beach, WiFi, and DirecTV. Stay cool on even the hottest days with air conditioning or cuddle up with our propane, electric, or wood stoves. (Varies by site.)

    We provide all of the linens and bath towels you need for your stay, as well as paper products to get you started. Our kitchenettes include microwaves, gas stove tops, refrigerators/freezers, coffee makers, pots, pans, dishes and silverware. We clean almost exclusively with eco-friendly products. Pack-n-plays and high chairs available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    Need more space? Our nearly 4 acre property with 400 feet of frontage along Cayuga Lake and a private beach also has the Spotted Sandpiper Lake House, the Overlook Lodge, 8 cabins and 2 yurts. Ask us about our discounted rates for multiple rentals!

    The Spotted Sandpiper is located in the woods with frontage on Cayuga Lake and bugs love the woods and water! They're savvy at finding their ways indoors (these are yurts after all). If the bugs are ever "bugging" you, we're always happy to help.

A cosy little round tent, down a long gravel road. You can look out the front door at the lake, down an intimidating boat ramp. I really enjoyed my stay with my dog at this property. We found it quiet and calm and easy access to hiking in the area.

By far the best glamping experince

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights with our three boys, and by the end of it, we pretty much didn’t want to leave. The property itself is in a lovely setting and the yurt we stayed in was way better than we expected. I have already recommended my colleagues to the spotted sandpiper (especially the yurts). I wish both Jordan and Kate the very best with their business. They were probably one of the best hosts we have had. I’d suggest you guys have some options for breakfast. PS: we are just suckers for it :)

The yurt #1was really nice and suited us. The staff and fellow guests were friendly. I was not so happy about the kitchen supplies. The pans are great, but there is no large bowls for serving or making pancake batter. The cooking utensils are black plastic which we no longer use and could be replaced. The fan in the bedroom was filthy, but was replaced quickly. The shower is the best, but the sink has just a tiny stream of water. The beach is not friendly for swimming which I didn’t realize. Despite my critique, I would rent again and would love to try the A frames. Thanks for welcoming our dogs!

Yurt experience

Yurt had all the convinces of home (except an oven). A/c , WiFi, television. Provided firewood, bottled water, linens. Only drawback was the grade to get to the water and limited deck space .

We have never stayed in a yurt. What a wonderful experience! It is cozy and roomy. We would definitely consider this property again check in was a breeze.
