This hotel is directly on busy street with a lot of trucks and buses coming day and night. So noice is disturbing. Additional problem: the restaurant. They just don’t know how to cook. We made an error by having a dinner there: the meet was oversalted and the fish was like rubber.

Buenos días respondiendo a su queja lamentamos lo sucedido con respecto al ruido se nos sale de las manos que una de las rutas principales del pais que es la 32 de Limón a san José se encontrara cerrada por lo que la única vía es por Turrialba por esta razón es el ruido de tanto vehículo y sobre la comida me parece muy extraño ya que hasta el momento las personas quedan muy satisfechas con el servicio pero si nos lo hubieran informado en el momento téngalo por seguro que le atenderíamos de inmediato y ofreceríamos otro platillo .Nuevamente las disculpas del caso

This hotel was perfect while staying in Turrialba to go white river rafting on the river. Its walking distance to downtown and to the bus station (I arrived via bus from San Jose and walked to the hotel in minutes). The staff here is wonderful. Great breakfast, simple and clean rooms. This hotel is awesome and for an affordable price!

It was very nice that despite being located nearly in mid-town Turrialba, Wagelia hotel was much quiet at night in order to catch a very good sleep. Thanks for that and a good service from all staff members, too!

The hotel staff were very friendly and always available to answer questions. We had to arrive very late (after 2am) and we were able to get into our room, so that was nice. The TV in our room was maybe a little broken (part of the screen did not work), but that was not a big deal.

Wagelia is a little oasis in busy Turrialba. The rooms were fairly quiet and the hotel was very peaceful.

Would not return to this hotel
Older mattresses on boards - very hard and uncomfortable. Website says they have a/c, but NO ROOMS have a/c. Window does not have a screen, so (a) bugs were in the room, (b) you can hear everything in the passage way, (c) hall lights are on until midnight, but can't close the curtain since the room is so hot. Small wall fan did NOT cool the room as promised. Small bathroom was OK, but there is nothing to stop the water from the shower flowing all over the floor, which is VERY slippery when wet. Plenty of hot water. No refrigerator in room, and the hotel does not have ice, or access to cold drinks. Departing the hotel at 6am each morning, but breakfast only starts at 6:30am. Very nice & friendly people, but this does not make up for the lack of comfort or service. Very busy all week so no time to deal with the headache of trying to change hotels when we returned at 10pm. We folded the thin comforters to use as more padding on top the mattresses, used bug spray in the room before trying to sleep. Fantastic bakery across the street, but it closes by 8pm. Turrialba is a great area, just find a more comfortable place to stay.

Hidden gem of a town with few tourists
Stayed 4 nights so plenty of time to look around. On site tour group offered many different tours you could do and also lots of ideas for doing things on your own around the town. Bus station a bit crazy, hardish to find the correct bus but all part of the fun, lovely friendly helpful people everywhere.

Terribly creaky bed
This hotel was very basic. One bed in room creaked if you sat on it or slightly moved. The other was very hard. Quiet sleep, given busy street outside. Breakfast was simple - fruit, toast, coffee, cereal.

Nice hotel in Turrialba
Hotel Wagelia is conveniently located, in walking distance to most of Turrialba. It had a small parking lot with security. The room was nice, not fancy.

In middle of town
We stayed 2 nights just to do rafting. Hotel arranged tour with perfect guide for 85 USD per person inclusive lunch. Hotel in middle of town but not mutch to do there. Quite simple but clean rooms very basic breakfast.

Un hotel excelente con un diseño minimalista bien atractivo. Han mejorado los desayunos que hoy son servidos de manera más eficiente. Sin embargo, las condiciones de seguridad en la calle son bastante riesgosas, por lo que hay que tener cuidado con las salidas especialmente en horas de la noche.

Great location, helpful staff.
We stayed at the Hotel Wagelia because it was in very good location to book and commence our activities - white water rafting and and canyoning. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the tour office, thus being convenient to both book the activities and to meet the guides for the trips. The Hotel Staff was excellent and knowledgeable. They really went out of their way to help us several times.

Turrialba nice town to visit
Turrialba is a wonderful place to visit, the hotel is nice, but I think for what they charge they can do a better job with the breakfast options and putting AC on the rooms. Rooms don't even have a ceiling fan and the one on the wall looks very rudimentary.
