“Beautiful room. The property is very nice. I had to wait quite a bit of time at check-in even though there was a staff member available but working on her computer. The second staff member eventually helped me. The breakfast was disorganized, no serving utensils, etc. but the staff was very nice. Overall, enjoyed the stay.”

“The General Palmer was an awesome hotel. I loved the historic aspect of the hotel, especially the elevator. The outdoor seating area overlooking the mountains, downtown, and the Durango and Silverton railroad depot was great too. The breakfast in the morning was good also.”

“The constant street noise was a drawback. I should have done better research because I didn’t realize we were on the main route through the city. Nonstop cars drove by. The sound echoed off the building. The room was clean. The bathroom could have been better maintained - sink stopper gone so you could see whatever was dropped down the drain. Shower didn’t look really clean but it was probably because the tile was reglazed and worn. Beds were comfortable. Sheets were clean. Breakfast was fine.……

“Great owners and great service but their parking situation is a nightmare if you’re not their first. Would stay again tho.”

“For the price the room was so so but pretty noisy being on the first floor. The shower was a polar experience as there was zero hot water. I wouldn’t want to stay longer than a night. There is a nice park behind the motel, easy access across a little bridge that crosses a creek for walking your dog so that was nice. The front desk woman was nice and helpful as well.”

“Bed sheets, pillows were smelling bad, they didn’t have clean ones, tub was bad, couch really dirty, carpet. I have use this facility somewhere else and they isn’t bad at all like this one.”

“Stayed in Durango for the night on the way from California to Colorado Springs. Older motel but in clean condition. The room had a small frig in it, desk, tv and a decent bed. It was great for a one night stay for the price. Ask for rooms towards the back as the front street is really busy. The front attendant was very helpful and nice. If you are looking for a high end room, this is not the place for you.”
