Home Away From Home

This house was perfect for us. The fenced in yard was a huge plus as we were traveling with pets. They were able to burn off some energy in the yard. The house was exactly as the pictures showed and how the listing was described. The location was good too. Walking distance to the beaches and main downtown area. We also took advantage of the short drive to Savannah for some tours and food. This house was a great home away from home and we’d recommend it to anyone traveling with kids and pets. Thanks!

Close to the beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at Canteloupe Cottage. The property was very nice on a pleasant, quiet road. We were walking/biking distance from the Chatham Rd beach access point, and several other inlet access points. We had a lot of fun.

Shabby chic comfortable bungalow

House is comfortable if a bit shabby (could use some TLC) but in a great locale. Quiet, bedroom neighborhood along Tybee Creek with 3 beach access points including one small pier, within easy walking distance. It was great swimming in the calmer waters along the Tybee Creek side of the island and not getting pounded by the surf. Wonderful beach combing. Easy walk to big pier, the pavillion and The Breakfast Club, etc. At the house, beds were comfotrtable and everything worked. Tons to do in and around Tybee and Savannah without having to go far. We had a great 5 days there and brought along our doggo. Would rent again.

Amazing

This was the perfect place! Just a 10 min walk to the beach and restaurants. Host was amazing and checked on us occasionally. Will definitely stay here again!

Great getaway!

Great place that allowed us to walk to the beach on both sides of the island, meals and ice cream shops. The property manager was very proactive with communication. We would definitely stay with them again!

Thoughts/suggestions

Very nice. Would like an outlet in bathroom or better access to mirror and outlet in bedrooms. Also maybe another tv in another one of the bedrooms. Would also like a broom and dustpan to sweep up the leaves tracked in. Liked the fenced yard for dogs

Sandpiper stay

House was two blocks from the beach and four blocks from shops, and clean (except for the coffee pot). Manager was responsive and friendly, as always. A little trouble getting into the home as the screen door was latched from the inside. The area was quiet and safe.

Wonderful!

Very impressed with our stay. The cottage matched the beach vibe and was the cleanest place I have ever stayed. Tammy was awesome and a pleasure to talk to. The yard was great and we sat out at back patio every day and enjoyed morning coffee. We visit Savanna often and will stay with Mermaid Cottages again.

Cantaloupe cottage 5 stars

Perfect cottage for our family get away. Plenty of space for 4 adults and our 2 dogs to enjoy and relax. We really enjoy paddle boarding, fishing and playing in the waves. Just a short walk and we could do everything. My dogs loved the secure backyard . The island is so clean and walker friendly. Would highly recommend.

Anniversary get away

It was nice n quiet. It's anything to complain about was couldn't get tv in 1st bedroom to right to work n wish there was an outlet in bathroom but that's minor. We really enjoyed our get away.

Best of Tybee

Cantaloupe Cottage was a great place to stay while visiting Tybee Island. If you prefer a quiet neighborhood and don’t mind a short walk or drive to the beach, this is the place to be. It’s affordably priced and provides a quiet place to relax before and after time spent out at the beach. The management team was very responsive and checked in on my family several times while we were there to make sure we had everything we needed. When the kitchen faucet started to leak, they it fixed within an hour. Overall, we had a great vacation!

Relaxing experience

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the cantaloupe cottage. The house was comfortable, clean, and cute. The only issue we had was with the spotty internet. It was not very reliable. Otherwise we loved it! The house is only a couple of blocks away from the back river beach (our favorite) and 1/2 mile from the beaches at the pier and pavilion. We watched the sunset from the shore at the fisherman’s walk pier each night - amazing! We brought our bicycles and were able to bicycle everywhere! That was the best part - no driving or fighting for parking spaces we had to pay for. Even the lighthouse is within bicycling distance. The house is in a quiet residence neighborhood. We plan to come back next year!

Cute and Comfortable

Very cute and clean property. Had everything we needed and we felt very comfortable and relaxed there. Easy check-in and check-out process and communication with host was excellent. Loved being able to walk to both the river and beach and the delicious restaurant down the street. Sad we didn’t get to stay longer.

Easy walk to multiple beach access spots and food, but off Butler enough to be quiet. Clean and well appointed for a vacation stay.

Wonderful Vacation

Cantaloupe Cottage was perfect for our family. We loved the sitting area in the back of yard to soak up the late evening sun and the cement patio for the dogs. The location was perfect for walking to the beach and restaurants, such as Pier 16, Sunrise and AJ's Dockside. We rented bikes from Fat Tire bikes and basically biked the entire island the last 2 days of our vacation. Also, I want to mention Tammy was extremely accommodating and pleasant to deal with. She was quick to respond to any questions we had regarding our stay. Thank you so much for such a wonderful memorable vacation! Tybee was a beautiful place and we hope to be back! We would rent again.

Absolute Paradise

Our stay at Canty Cottage was one of our absolute favorite vacations we have taken yet. The location is one that can’t be beat. We were just a short walk to the beach and fishing pier. The cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood, we would walk to the beach early in the morning and everyone in the neighborhood who was out walking was extremely friendly. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in back yard as well. Mermaid Tammy was absolutely wonderful and checked in with us throughout our stay. Tybee Island is truly magical and mermaid cottages helped make our stay that much better! We will definitely be using them again in the future.
