This is our 5th rental with Mermaid Cottages over the years. Each rental has a personality of its own, and we have enjoyed every one of them. Diane has always been helpful and follows up to make sure everything is okay. My family usually visits during the Christmas holiday, and this was our first summer vacation. The Bead Cottage was as described. I could tell from the pictures that the space was limited. It was just right my husband and me, so the cottage was a good fit for us. Our adult son stayed two nights, and the cottage easily accommodated the three of us. We typically use the screened porch as an additional living area, even during the winter. We spend most of our time there except for the evenings. This being said, some of the furnishings on the Bead Cottage porch weren't quite up to the high standards we have been accustomed to. It needed to be cleaned, and the metal chairs at the table were old and rusted. However, the porch may not be a priority for everyone. The interior of the cottage was clean, and the pool was immaculate and a welcome reprieve from the afternoon heat.Although this cottage was a bit of a letdown, we plan to return to Tybee and rent from Mermaid Cottages.
