Tipsy Times at Tipsy Turtle!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this home. As snowbirds from upstate NY, we visit Tybee every year. First time here and it has comfy beds and kitchen well stocked. Fun place. Would stay again.

July 2024 Family Vaca

Rental was clean and plenty of space for our party of 10! Screened in porch was pleasant to sit out on even during rainy evenings. Loved having laundry on site too. Lights lighting up porch and back patio set the mood in the evenings. Kitchen is a bit small but we made it work and was able to make yummy meals. Plenty of pans, pots, dishes. Keurig and Coffee pot combo was great!

Served It’s Purpose, But Improvements Needed!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We recently stayed at this Tybee cottage with 6 adults and 2 kids. While it was a cute cottage and gave us a place to stay, there were several issues. When we first arrived, there was a strong odor inside that lingered for a while. We found some cockroaches during our stay and were promised pest control would come, but no one ever showed up. The home itself needs updates; the floors are noticeably slanted, making it feel like you’re drifting sideways when you walk. It also lacked some basic accommodations like enough towels and toiletries, and it could really use more curb appeal. Overall, it served its purpose, but it definitely needs attention and improvements to make future stays more comfortable.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The inside of house was great very roomy and spacious. The outside was a disappointment. I was hoping to sit outside in the area they advertised but it was dirty and furniture was dirty. Really the whole front and side and back needs to be cleaned. I asked if chairs and umbrella would be provided and they had some but most of them are broken and worn out.

We had problems, but this was a great stay

To summarize, this was a second house booking because our first cancelled on us. We had planned this vacation for several months and had to find another house, this one fit our needs. We are from the mountains in Northeast Tennessee, the week before our trip, Helene ravaged our area, taking out most of our bridges, several of our neighbor's homes, the power for days, and when we decided to not lose our money by canceling and go on vacation anyway, we still had no running water to our homes. During that time, cellular swrvice was a bit spotty, which I assume is the cause of us not receiving the check-in instructions and guide book. When I attempted to contact customer service before our arrival, I didn't get a response, neither did VRBO when attempting to go through them. Thankfully, we were able to figure out how to get into the house. The stay was great. We had a wonderful time and the people on the island are always welcoming and pleasant. Unfortunately, because I didn't get the guide book, we just did our best guesses from stays at other houses with check out. We in no way want to point blame at anyone, customer service seemed very busy and with our travel directions changed becaused of Helene, let's just say that it was a much-needed reprieve by our family. We were grateful to have spent some relaxing beach time and introduce our granddaughter to the ocean. We highly recommend this adorable house, the screened porch is a great spot for sitting and talking for hours.

Was told upon arrival there was a broken faucet, a broken chair, a broken grill, and we found also a broken toilet seat…. We were told issues would be fixed the day of check in… someone came on the fourth day and said faucet could not be repaired…almost $2300, 7 days later , none of the repairs had been done…. We also take care of the rentals we use, and had to empty nasty vaccum in order to use it…. After , apparently seeing too many cars, on a camera, we assume, someone called and said that led them to think we had too many people staying in the house!!!!! There were also several dead bugs in the house…. We have been renting houses on Tybee for over 20 years…. Never had an experience like this .. I think we are entitled to a partial refund… certainly we will not do business here…. Oh, could not get door open, and when I called, a different company answered, said they had no record of my reservation…. After 3 tries, the person said , oh, we handle that property , too. Yes , the phone calls about the cars, not being able to get in, and the condition of the house … we were happy to leave….

Nice Getaway

We rented bikes and were easily able to get around the whole island. Booking was easy and Tybee Cottages staff are always super friendly. Thanks again!

We were over the moon with the staff and communication from the team, but even more satisfied with our stay at this lovely tybee home. Tipsy Turtle accommodated our entire group perfectly - we really loved the huge patio. Another bonus was being so close to restaurants..We walked to Salt Island and The Sugar Shack every night! We'll be back every year and look forward to our next stay.

Girls Weekend!
