This was my first time visiting Bali, and staying at Onyx was a great experience. The room was comfortable and well maintained. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and responsive whenever we had a request.
The restaurants within the hotel were also very good, with great food and a nice atmosphere. I didn’t personally use the spa during my stay, but it looked beautiful and well maintained.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Onyx and would definitely consider staying here again on a future trip to Bali. The friendly service and attention to detail really stood out!
I had a great stay, rooms were very clean, the building is old but very well maintained, staff are super nice and helpful. Location is excellent and everything is at walking distance. Only thing that was very annoying was the shower, the head is fixed and not adjustable meaning if you are a short person like me you will have difficulty washing your hair! Other than that it was a great stay, highly recommended.
This resort is beautiful and staff are very kind but amenities like pool towels and the gym are not included in the price of the room. There’s no complimentary coffee or tea in the room either

The property itself is amazing , note the wellness, gym and suana are all separately paid for and not included in the nightly cost. When I arrived the room had a broken curtain rod and ac not working. Just did not feel homey compared to the other resorts for that price. Also the vibe in the place is filled with security personnel breathing down your neck. Doesn’t feel welcoming at all. I loved the suana and wellness part but hated staying at the premises itself. I had a couple of friends visit me to use the suana/welness one of them was Indonesian and she was definitely profiled by the security asked to leave an ID.
The staffs are great and accommodating. I booked a room for my elderly mum and wasn’t aware that it’s at end of the building (this place is huge) and need to walk up some stairs. She got upgraded to a studio which is just a short walk to all the restaurants and front entry, for 3 nights and no charges. If you after a place to relax, highly recommended. They have gym/spa ( extra charges) , a massive pool and like 6-7 restaurants. Also they have heaps of security guards, as a guest I do feel super safe staying there.
This is a very weird place. The design is odd in general. It’s a bit run down. Huge parts of it seem to be in process of demolition. On one hand, it’s a ghost town. It does not seem like very many of the rooms or suites are inhabited. Yet the place is also teeming with Russians- and the stereotypes are true, Russians are, in general, cold and often come across as rude. This hotel catches this vibe.
The price we paid was amazingly cheap. But did not include access to the gym. Access to the gym and recover for a couple is significant. I think it cost almost as much as our room did for the 3 days we were there.
Would I stay here again? No, but it wasn’t an automatic no. I had to think about it. The rate was suuuper cheap. But nah. I’d rather pay a little more elsewhere and escape the weird architecture/ design and cold vibes.
