「The facilities are in excellent condition, the staff is lovely, the breakfast is very good, and it's not far from the Kruger gate and shops. Unfortunately the people in the adjacent room to mine were blaring music or TV until late in the evening and I had to wear ear plugs to sleep. But the place itself is great. 」

「We stayed at the Sunbird Lodge for 3 nights, and it was very peaceful and quiet. 「Shindzela offers the type of safari experience that is sadly dying out, to be replaced by glitzy, costly options that separate visitors from the real bush. Our guide was excellent; calm & professional even when another group was shrieking and whooping (TIP, wild animals prefer quiet). Our tracker was keen-eyed, polite and focussed. The cooking/cleaning staff clearly took pride in their work. I feel Shindzela is excellent value for money and should form a part of many more travellers' trips....

「Staying with the sisters who run the property and the other staff became increasingly pleasant with every passing day. Plus, I was more than comfortable in my room, where they don't skimp on pillows for those of us who like to sit up in bed to work. There's no generator on the premises for the load-shedding but that's normal for comparable properties. Just stay atune to the schedule is what I learned in southern Africa.」
